Hello all! I have finally gained the classic Geddy Lee growl using the following:
Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass w/ '62 Pickups Tech 21 Sansamp GT2 Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver DI
On the GT2, the settings are: Mic - Classic Mod - Clean Amp - California Level - knob @ 12:00 Low - Turned all the way up High - knob @ 1:00 or 2:00. depending on where the "arrows" are Gain - knob @ 9:00
On the Bass Driver Di: Level- All the way up Blend- Off Presence- Off Drive - Off Treble - knob @ 3:00 Bass - All the way up
It may sound a little different depending on the amp you have. I have a Peavey TNT 160. When you put through a multi tracker, you have the awesome Rush sound!
Chain order- Guitar - GT2- Bass Driver - Chorus (Optional)
Thanks! I hope this helps people who are searching for the Geddy Lee tone.

The way he originally got that trademark tone was with a Ric. Using the Ric-O-Sound (or whatever they call it), he sent the treble pickup to a really bass-heavy amp and the bass pickup to a really treble-heavy amp. It sort of "cancelled-out," and so the tone is dominated by the mid-range sounds.
