How about Telstar by The Tornadoes? (no, I'm not being ironic).

Not much of a choiceConfused, but TB from those listed.

I'd have liked an "other" option, I reckon Sylvia by Focus is my all time favourite.

Out of those... Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Bravo to JrKASperov (Fracture!) and threefates (though I might have chosen The Barbarian).  Also missing is one I totally expected to see: Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater.

Of the ones in the poll, it would be a hard choice between PF and KC.

Peace.

Camel, Focus and Pink Floyd made the best (easy listening) instrumentals. The Snow Goose album by Camel, Focus, Hamburger Concerto are among my favourites.

Out of those, I would choose Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells, because that guy is a genius, playing almost all the instruments on his albums and maikng it sound like it came from heaven isn't something that everyone can achieve. But there are many other instrumentals that I like:

Porcupine Tree - The Sky Move Sidways

Genesis - Horizon

Yes - The Clap

-------------

My favorite instrumental goes to the Who with their incredible Sparks instrumental. Progressive Wise, it goes to LTE with 3 minute warning. Rush also has incredible intrumentals, as does DT, ELP, and the rest of them for that matter.

Hmm, pretty dicey selections to choose from...

Even as a diehard Floyd fan, I still chose 'Red' over 'Interstellar Overdrive'.

My favourite instrumental would have to be: Cluster One (naturally).

Interesting piece of trivia: Pink Floyd won a grammy for <Best Instrumental> in 1994 for their song 'Marooned' off of The Division Bell. And no, they were not on hand to receive the award in person.

Out of those choices i voted for 'Interstella Overdrive' i never get tired of that opening riff and then it takes you on a psychedelic journey!

I used to love Tubular Bells when it first came out but its been over played too much for me now.

Red Queen... is one of my favourite albums as is Midnight Mushrumps. I was thinking of adding a couple of Gryphon tracks to my instrumentals list as well as some Amazing Blondel but have yet to decide. ATM I'm trying to decide which Eno tracks to include.

Without a doubt, the best prog metal instrumental is Pagan's Mind - Back to the Magic of Childhood Pts. 1 & 2.  This song is the perfect mix of hard riffing, soft melodic passages, and plenty of chops on every instrument.  Both parts together are 12 minutes long, but it never ever gets old.

A strong 2nd place goes to Dream Theater for Stream of Conciousness.
