Hey, so I have been playing guitar for some years now, and listening to prog for a while too.  I'm in a band, but I also make recordings on my own in my room.  I use simple recording equipment thats nowhere near professional quality, but I try as hard as I can to create good recordings with it.

The band I'm in plays progressive metal, but I prefer to record softer songs by myself.  On my myspace (link at bottom), I have four songs.  The first song I consider to be more of a Prog-pop song because of its simple structure and pop-ish sound, but the rest of my songs are a little bit different.

I'd really like it if some people here could give me their opinions about what I can do to improve or what they like.  Heres the link:

Thanks,

....it's been a few days now and nobody has looked yet...

Anybody wanna listen?  I'll give a big hug ( Hug) to the first person who goes to listen...

Ok, the hug thing was kind of a joke, but still, I think you get my point.

Oh hey there :)  I didn't notice this thread before or I would have posted my opinion here instead of in the other thread... it was a thread started by JustinTime about his music.  So, anyway, I liked your stuff!  Especially 'One Day' I thought that one created an impenetrable mood.

Oh and I definately do enjoy Opeth.  By far they are my favorite modern band.   Yes is my favorite older band!

Ya I do love Opeth.  As for "older" bands, I like Pink Floyd a lot (WYWH especially) and Genesis and Mike Oldfield.  Another good modern one is Porcupine Tree.

I'm pretty sure this isn't really the conversation that should be happening in this section but.....whatever.  I'm glad you liked the songs though.
