Hello everyone!I've been a fan of prog since the age of eleven. My brother found out about this site when I was fifteen(wish that it had been me).The first groups that I really got into(& still am)were ELP,Rennaisance, and Pink Floyd. However, my true zeal for such polyphonic music came about when I joined chorus in sixth grade.I'm sixteen now and I'm still in chorus.I guess the best way to classify prog is as the musician's music.I say this because it seems as though only musicians listen to each intricate part & appreciates them all. That's one of the reasons I love music so much;it's a science.I also love literature, language,Monty Python,MST3K,Star Trek,& a mass of other stereotypical interests that a prog fan might have(even though the fact that I'm a girl & a prog fan seems almost paridoxical as it is).If you want to know more about my taste in music my myspace address is:www.myspace.com/catsfootironclaw . As in the moody blues song, nice to be here!

I also like Rush a lot. I just forgot to mention them.About two years ago I had an obsession with Rush.Honestly,Geddy Lee is an awesome bass player!
Rennaisance is like a more classically oriented prog band.I can't believe that I forgot to mention Gentle Giant!

I don't mean to sound weird.....but the majority of guys that I get crushes on are older than me.For example; I now have a crush on Peter Hammill. It's always a guy from the UK.(In response to Fandango's comment.)I don't mean to sound immoral or anything,I just can't stand guys my age(there are a few exceptions).

Yes, only slightly
But I used to belong to a mostly-female forum and there was a similar reaction when a boy joined...although there were no picture threads, so there was none of that brand of bizarreness.
I'm happy when women join, because the more of us there are, the less the men here can complain our gender categorically dislikes prog! I have yet to meet a woman who hasn't liked some of the prog I've played for her, but maybe my friends are especially cool.
And welcome Christine, although I think you've posted enough you no longer need to be welcomed by now!
