Its neither sad nor cool, in the sense your looking for...its sad in a sense for me that the afterlife being portrayed, although i disagree with it realisticaly, is really beautiful!
The music also, is very touching and beautiful...its just an epic final scene, makes me ball ------------- "Only the sun knew why"

I bought the newest version with 3 or 4 discs, but sold it to my friend after one viewing. It's a great movie, but I don't need so many superfluous discs.

Well, in that case, definitely. My friend's a crazy film buff; essentially what I am to music he is to films. So he dug it. The only movie that i came close to crying was the end of House of Sand and Fog. And no, I didn't cry at the end of Gladiator; although it is moving. |

I spared some tears, does that count? I voted yes. Sentimental stories never go wrong with me  , but Gladiator was also a great film.

I have NEVER cried at a film... the film which brought me closest to this non-masculine state, was one which I've mentioned in here several times... The Bicycle Thieves... one of the most moving endings to a movie I have witnessed....
Having previously studied The Colosseum... I just laughed at Gladiator, quite frankly... ------------- Music has always been a matter of energy to me. House of Sand and Fog had to be the most depressing movie of all time. It was a moving picture but you just feel total despair at the end. I'll admit it, I cried and I cry at just about anything sad. At the end of Lord of the Rings when Aragon says, "My friends, you bow to no man," I turn into a little girl. Oh, well ------------- Biggles was in rehab last Saturday |

Didn't cry, it's been ages since I saw it though. I wasn't crying. I just got something in my eye, that's all.
Perhaps adding the useless death of a furry pet in the final scene would have done the trick for me, but I can also see how this would have made very little sense to the plot.

I completely agree. That movie was a major depresso factory. Everyone character was an antagonist. I felt completely gutted at the end of that movie and I watch a lot of depressing movies. No other film has left me feeling like House of Sand and Fog did. |

I only cried in two movies, Forest Gump when I was little when the wife dies and the Green mile ...it seems to be Tom Hanks... ...and I almosut, almosut cried...at the end of Brokeback Mountain...BUT IF YOU TELL ANYONE I WILL HAVE TO KILL YOU!!!! ------------- "You want me to play what, Robert?"

perhaps I am a cynical b*****d, but I laughed hysterically at that part several parts of VII were pretty moving though, though not to the point of tears (and no, not the obvious one,I laughed when she died too, partially because I knew it was going to happen already)-------------

I often cry a litle while watching sad movies the green mile is a good exampel of a movie that rly made me cry.. the gladiator on the other hand dident make me cry what i remeber atleast. -------------
