I'm inclined to type "Scarsick", but then again there's always things like "Invisible Touch" or "Are You Dead Yet?".

Brain Salad Perjury aka Re-Works
The song list includes 5 or 7 dance versions of Fanfare for the Common Man.
Simply repulsive.

Yuck! But I still have to stand by Love Beach, even if Canario is a pretty tune

I'll go with Gentle Giant's Giant for a Day. Really I don't think much of any of their final three studio albums, but the first eight were fantastic.

That's my opinion:
Genesis.... yes, nothing strange, the winner is... Abacab
PF... The Final Cut
Yes.... I don't know which is worse - Open Your Eyes or Big Generator
Camel... hard to find, but Remote Romance from ICSYHFH is one of the most horrible tracks ever released by the prog group (shame - look at my avatar)
KC... The ConstruKction Of Light
Rush... Vapor Trails
TFK... Adam&Eve
Supertramp.... Indelibly Stamped
Enough. Let's make some positive...

Probably the biggest shock I've ever got was when I listened to Roger Waters's Radio KAOS album for the first time. I bought it despite all the bad reviews it gets, thinking that "Hey, the guy who was responsible for the masterpiece that is Pros and Cons of Hitch-hiking cannot possibly make a rotten album all of a sudden, right?". Boy was I wrong.

In The Hot Seat (in the toilet seat)
Abacab (abacrap)
..I've yet to muster the courage to get The Big Generator but I expect that must be a contender as well.

My favourite horrors:
Supertramp: Live 88 and Slow Motion
Genesis: Invisible Touch, Genesis, some others too horrible to mention...
Pink Floyd: The Final Cut.
ELP: Due to the horrible reviews, I haven't even listened to Love Beach (except Canario, a nice song) or "In The Hot Seat".
Yes: 90something.
King Crimson: I don't like Beat, Discipline and 3 of a perfect pair.
Rush: I don't like them much after "Exit... stage left"
The bands before are some I really like, there are many others I can't stand at all, but It's not funny being destructive...

For me, there is only one irredeemable Genesis album and that's 'Calling All Stations'. I can find at least half an album I like on the other 80s ones, but that had one song I liked in the title track. The rest was just dull, dull, dull...
Yes' 'Open Your Eyes'- I always say this was the wrong album at the wrong time. It's very much a blip in their discography as other albums of this period were more progressive, this was not and wasn't necessary, imho. I'd add their 'Tormato' to the list as well...
ELP In Concert- awful mix, a dull set list, terrible keyboards from Keith Emerson; just bad all round really!! 'Love Beach' is salvaged by 'Canario' and 'Memoirs Of A Gentleman' isn't terrible, even if it's not a patch on earlier works.

Now I've discovered Kevin Gilbert, I'm wondering what if Gilbert had become Collins' replacement on lead vocals and clearly song-writing duties.

Don't believe everything you read about Big Generator, Richard. It may not be their best but it has at least 3 excellent tracks in "Love will find a way", "Final Eyes" and especially "I'm Running". Overall I prefer it to 90125 and Open Your Eyes.

It's not an original choice, but definitely Love Beach. I picked it up on cassette tape from a bargain bin some time during the eighties, just to see how bad it really was.
Cost me 50p, and I overpaid by about 48p.

To my mind, it sounds nothing like 90125. It has a sharper more "edgy" feel.
Edit. Less "glossy" souding is wehat I'm trying to say I think.

The first thing that sprang to mind was either Crest of a Knave or Under Wraps by Jethro Tull, but both of those albums have a few good tracks on them too. But overall they are the (in my opinion) the worst of Jethro Tull's output.
Steel Monkey and Automotive Engineering i really enjoy!

^^It's not "After what album did the band go astray" but rather which SPECIFIC ALBUM is the worst. You gave periods, rather than albums.
I'm gonna have to go with Islands for King Crimson. There's only one piece there I like, Sailors Tale.

Ok, let's see:
YES - 90125 (atrocious, so bad that the best song is actually Owner of a lonely heart)
Genesis - Invisible Touch (Also, GENESIS -the album- just because of Illegal Alien)
Evergrey - Monday Morning Atrocity (Evergrey is not one of my favorites, but this album sucks so much I had to put them in the list)
YES - The Ladder (it's very bad for me)
Royal Hunt - Paper Blood
Pain of Salvation - Scarsick (it's not terribly bad, but the band used to be SO good, it's such an enormous contrast)
I haven't heard many reputed atrocities as Love Beach or Islands or many others... And there are a lot of awful albums I could name, but from bands I don't consider among my top-20

Well from a broader perspective by bands:
- Genesis: Abacrap or Shapes, both are horrendous, but Mama is the worst thing after Who Dunitt? Invisible Touch has The Brazilian inmerese in a pile of crap so at least deserves 50% of a star, In would give -50 to ABACRAP or Shapes..
- Yes: Big Generator, I thought nothing vould be worst than 90210 or was it 90125? I was wrong.
- Triumvirat: A La Carte, the Rat turns POP
- Kansas: Vinyl Confesions
- ELP: Re-Works (Love Beach has Canario and In the Hot Seat has a studio vesion of Pictures), Re-.Works is perfect crap
- STYX: Kilroy Was Here: Kilroy might have been there with Mr Lobotto but Music wasn't.
- Peter Gabriel: OVO....For God's sake, it has Rap
- ELO: Discovery (Very Disco) If already ELO is barely Prog, Discoovery is barely crap.
- Rick Wakeman:Family Album (For God's sake he loves his family, why did he did that to them?)
- Jon & Vangelis: Friends of Mr. Cairo, Never too good together but Short Stories was pretty decent, FOMC is Gouda, Camembert or Roquefort, don't which one precisely but that it's cheesy, it's cheesy.

how?, I mean the life stuffs great, but Grand Vizors tea party and Sysyphus are pretty much self indulgent. Of course I don't use that word self indulgent lightly, its an overused term that critics use if their appreciation is too poor to understand diverse music; but seriously Ummagumma was more interesting for PF to executethan it was to listen.
