I pick South Park.

It's consistantly funny and manages to be a rather poignant (lots of times) social commentary and fun/funny satire. Some people call this "preaching" but hey...to each his own.

Sorry I included so many I know will not be voted on but I mean...who knows?

And also I'm sure this has been done before...but people change

P.P.P.P.P.S.
--The ton ten listed are my top 10 favorite cartoons (in order).

Sure is...though the recent season has disappointed me to say the least. Simpons hayday:

Season 3/4 - 8.

In my opinion.

I'd maybe maybe give Season 9 too.

I went with South Park just because it is amazing and satirical. Although the Boondocks comes close for the same reason.

"The Venture Brothers" is the funniest, and just keeps getting better.

Sometimes I wonder if one of the writers is someone I grew up with. Some of the jokes are right out of stuff my buddies and I kidded around about.

that's neat, and probably makes the show a bit more special than others might be.

Other. Phantom 2040 was way too ahead of its time. Fascinating plot, awsome artwork. Everyone looked like Mick Jagger for some reason. And yes, I prefer this cartoon to Aeon Flux, because of the clever reinterpretation of the Phantom character.

At the present moment, I voted for The Venture Bros., such a great show!  As for some of the others:  South Park isn't funny anymore, I don't like the concepts of the episodes.  The Simpsons is the best cartoon ever made, but is way past its prime.  Futurama was a really good show, I wish it hadn't ended.  I wish I watched more Robot Chicken, I always seem to miss it.  Sealab 2021 was HILARIOUS until the guy who played Captain Murphy died, his replacement character on the show sucked.  Fairly Oddparents is mildly amusing, but I don't watch it too much anymore.  And I never liked Spongebob Squarepants... way too juvenile of a show, and too much stupid humor.

actually i have season dvds too. nine comes out soon.

what's with people dissing the new south park episodes?

they are great too...

except for "a million little fibers" which sounds like the spongebob writers took a shot at writing a real cartoon. it's um...nicht so gut...

Oh, Spongebob Squarepants has incredible jokes, such as the one of the episode in wich Patrick and spongebob become parents of a baby clam. I mean, when they both walk by the streets with their "baby", and a fish that is passing by watch them and thinks "Seasponge + Starfish = Clam???". You can't say that this is not the work of a genius comediant...

No sarcasm at all. It just happens that I'm very much into comedy. And, as a comedy amateru specialist, I do think that some moments on Spongebob are oscar material or something like that.

Futurama has no votes, I've surprised!  It's a seriously amusing cartoon once you get into it.

Since I'm kind of devoted to pure comedy, i have to 50% agree with you. The fairly odd parents also presents some really unexpected jokes from time to time, like that one episode about Vicky being bad because of a bug, and Cosmo's relief about it, because ti was a bug and not corn. Very Monty Python stuff...

I agree, that show doesn't get anywhere near as much respect as it deserves. On occasion it references things way above the targeted audience and other times it's just pure abusrdism. When it's good, it's very good

If a need to laugh, Invader Zim is all I need. The Nickelodeon equivalent to listening to The Residents. For White jokes, just Wallace and Gromit. Those guys in Aardman can make a joke out of nothing.

I have Invader Zim season in avi format, since it is not availabe as DVD in this country. I specially like the Christmas episode, though I have the feeling that the author of the scripts is in seriuos need of psychiatric help. As for Wallace and Gromit, and, as I said, being a truly devoted fan of comedy, I have to say that those guys are the most clever writters / animators ever.

The thing about futurama is that they kill their jokes because they presented a future in wich everything is possible. So, nothing is funny, because nothing unexpected can happen in a future in wich everything can happen.

I kinda like Fairly Oddparents myself. I know I'm repeating what was just said, but it does have a lot of humor for older audiences.
One of my favorites:
We looked everywhere for clowns, even congress. The place was full of clowns but none of them were funny.

I love the Simpsons & Sponge Bob, used to like South Park. But at a certain point it seems like they just look for sacred cows to savage, to push the edges of good tastes, without considering that they could just work a bit harder & just write funny material instead of shock jock stuff.

South Park is the funniest now but I still picked the Simpsons because it formed about 70% of my sense of humour!  It's been there since I was about 8 and it really paved the way for everything else.

But South Park is the most consistent by far!  Loving Season 11!

Most of these are great, but South Park nicked it for me, there' nothing else like it.

Would you like to watch TV, or get between the sheets, or contemplate the silent freeway, would you like something to eat?

Ren And Stimpy is my favorite cartoon.  some episodes can boring but it's still a great cartoon.    it has great art and classical music  and gross things that stimpy does.   what more could you want!?

For the past year or two...

King of the Hill

But of all time?!...

RUGRATS!!!

Yes, Rugrats! I absolutely loved this show. I watched it every night with my sister, and sometimes my dad, religiously through most of my elementary school years. The show was absolutely fantastic, and i don't believe any Nickelodeon show has been as great about moral values, family ties, and just plain kids having fun as this show. The downfall came when that little neusence Dill caused Tommy to stop adventuring and thus making him be the softy baby sitter... what a jerk.

On a side note, i also enjoyed

Doug
All That!
The Amanda Bynes Show
Kablam!
Wishbone
Cat Dog
...and The Fairly Odd Parents (the last great show by Nickelodeon before I couldn't stand the crap they were dishing out any longer... and I was too old to watch the shows anyway)

Nickelodeon where did these classics go!?!?! And what the hell is the Naked Brothers Band?!?!

1 Chronicles 13:7-9

Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.

Watching Rugrats as a child made me a good person today. That show is amazing in every way.

C'mon!! Where are the classics???

Man, stuff like the amazing Tom & Jerry, the Pink Panther, The Flinstones, Bugs Bunny, Los Autos Locos (don't know its name in English), Coyote and The Roadrunner (correct name?), and lots and lots of the classic Hannah Barbera really take the cake!!

Would I compare them with senseless stuff like South Park, which abuses of strong language and shows a lot of stupid attitudes??

No, man. The real classics are right up there!!!!!!!

Clap
