Compare this: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=5531 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=5531
with this: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=5534 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=5534 .

Same album (original and re-issue), but two separate entries.

If I'm wrong, I bring my apologies.

You're perfectly right, as the entry for "Return to the Sabbat" states clearly that this is the original version of the other one, "Sacrifice". One of them should be deleted, and the release information added to the "Return..." entry.

Both albums currently have reviews, so the reviews of the album doomed for deletion should be transfered into the list of reviews of the remaining one.

Are you absolutelly sure about this case? I mean, the realese have same songs, but the later one is an ealry recording with a line-up which had a lady singer with them, and the releases sound very different IMO. The original is OK, but the early is a five star masterpiece! I think it's good to offer different ratings for these records in order to see this potential value deviation between the albums?

Good point Eetu .... I have inserted the following line into the entry for 'Return To The Sabbat' .....

"This album was recorded in 1969. It contains the original versions of material that would be re-recorded and released as the band's debut album 'Sacrifice'."

Very good. I emphasise -- I asked the question, and wasn't sure (hence the question).

Re-recording is totally different from re-release, in my opinion. This leads me to open another thread which will appear immediately...
