OK...Time for a new tournament!

"Inpraiseoffolly" started one similar to this right after I started the now completed Rush one, but was unable to finish it.  I PM'd him and he is fine with me starting over.

A few notes about the Tournament:

I include ABWH as a Yes album.  Although it officially is NOT a Yes album, with the events that followed it-- Union album & tour--  it certainly seems to play an important role in the history of Yes.

I substitute Keystudio to represent the studio material from the 2 Keys to Ascention albums.

Remember, the idea is to vote for the one you like LEAST in each round.  It does not mean that you dislike an album, just like it less than the others remaining, until we get down to the last album standing....

Each round will be open for aproximately 3 days.  If two or more titles are tied after that time, a one day run-off will be posted to determine which one is eliminated.

I think I voted 'Open Your Eyes' the first time and I won't change my mind. The wrong album at the wrong time- everyone expected a full on prog album after KTA (which itself was no great shakes)...and we got that.Dead

My initial vote is for Union...some good stuff there, but way too uneven and too many studio musicians.....

Tales, but only because I only own The Yes Album, Fragile, CTTE, Tales, Relayer, and Going For the One...

I'm sure they've done worse.

keys to ascension studio material is like a neo-prog version of themselves and in that respect I detest it even more than their new glam period. additionally I bought keys one after reading reviews whereas I had enough sense not to buy 90125.

Keys To Ascension simply isn't very good, I agree. Only one song has endured- 'Mind Drive'- in my opinion. The rest of it is very, very average.

But '90125' I always enjoy more than I think I will, whenever I play it. I think that would survive for me a lot longer than some of the albums that follow it in this poll.

How am I the only one for 90125? Music at its worst right there.

CTTE has two votes?? Not my favorite but, come on people!

Yes, I must admit that in my voting I forgot to realize that 2112 is pure, raw, progressive rock at its finest, and I just had my fingers crossed when I said that because it is very overrated.

I am always surprised that people vote against CTTE, especially in the early rounds....
Why?  Because so many do love it so much that they feel the need to knock it down a peg?

Wont be crazier than the Zappa tourney, seeing as how we have some very disgruntled Joes Garage lovers over there right now.

You must not have Tormato either. Circus of Heaven demands that this album be the FIRST to go....and that's what I voted for.

Oh, come on people! Big Generator isn't that bad! I mean, it is the only Yes album I own, so I guess I'm not one to judge and whatnot, but still...

Sorry...I like Zappa, but don't have enough zappa albums to participate in a useful way on that one....

I have all of Yes' albums, and agree that it isn't THAT bad....It is far from their best, but really not the worst IMHO...but it seems to be on the way out here....

I quite like Big Generator, it's better than 90125 imo. From what I've heard of "Open Your Eyes", that's the one.

If only for the track 'Changes', 90125 is better than Big Generator, in my opinion.

I don't have anything past Big Generator and I would honestly say its between relayer and CTTE. I love all their albums (minus the ones I don't have) and they are all close in quality. I understand those are two of the more popular ones but I have felt that way since I started listening to Yes, its just a matter of personal peference. Don't be angry that my vote is for Relayer (although it could easily have been Close to the Edge)

Circus of Heaven is terrible, but it is a Jon Anderson solo track. No clue how it wound up on the final album thoughConfused
