I thought this would be a fun thing to do. This is just for musicians only, as I only want photos of yourselves to be posted here. This is kinda like the rogues gallery, but instead I want you to post any embarrassing pictures of you performing or just fooling around with a musical instrument. Should be interesting...
I would start off but the only picture I have is very very very uber embarrassing and I still shiver every time I look at it because it was an actual gig
FOR THE ADMINS: I didnt know if this should be posted here or in "Just For Fun", but I put it here because its just for musicians. Cool?

On second thought, it would be rather hypocritical not to post it seeing as how I started this thread.
Okay ill make a deal. Ill post it once there is at least 5 pictures up here. Seems fair enough to me!

Ok, nevermind. I just realized not many people perform in public where photos are happening.
So stories are fine as well

Hmm only performed in front of people twice. The first time was an english project and my friend and I made a delta blues song. (the book was based in the delta around 1930 so we could play the blues!). I had the slide guitar and my other friend played rhythm guitar.
It was also the first time I used a slide (not to mention a steel string guitar). Highly embarrasing for me but I was told I did very good.

Another time was at my church. I was playing bass guitar and everybody could hear me and I had to play perfectly otherwise evrybody else would screw up.
I only noticeably messed up once.

Thats not too bad, I've played drums for my school's jazz band as a replacement before and I completely didn know how to keep a jazzy beat! Haha, it wasnt too bad.
But my most embarrassing one tops all of this!

The crowd that went to see a local thrash group didnt quite like it that I was playing my very own "Soundscapes" right next to them

I don't have any pictures but in 5th grade in one of my choir concerts I couldn't see the conductor so I leaned so far over I fell off the stage

Yeah, I've heard every musician's early gigs are a joke, utter disasters. But it does get better, and there's the rare great moment (just make sure to always record yourself).

Haha, I actually thought I played really well! Its just that this wasnt exactly the crowd that could watch me play 30 minutes without screaming or smashing some kinf of instrument. I could tell that they were all dreaming about Judas Priest concerts of the past

First time playing anything in public, first time playing a steel string guitar, first time playing with a slide without messing around.

This is a fairly embarrassing one of me. I'm the bass player on the left (this was when I had hair and mullets were in).

It certainly looks like a Steinberger.
Steinberger guitars and basses are really nice to play once you get past the appearance.

Thankfully I don't get the 'do you play cricket with it?' remarks as my Steinberger (guitar not bass) has a strat style body.

The other musicians in the picture remind me of Huey Lewis and Talking Heads' drummer.
For my band's first gig we decided we'd play "One More Red Nightmare" right up, figuring it was deceptively simple and would impress the audience. Unfortunately the drummer was nervous and didn't sound quite as skilled as Bruford. Added to that the middle section accidentally went on too long and I forgot what I was supposed to be playing (I play guitar) maybe 4 bars in. "Indiscipline" went down a lot better with the crowd, despite our bassist not having actually heard the song and us shambolicly improvising the choruses.

Going back a ways... my second band ever, we did a talent show at my guitarists Jr.Hi school (we followed a squeeky trampolene act), ...we were the only band (also not a good idea). A big wide stage seperated each guitarist by a mile. Unable to tune up corectly caused some stress.
I counted off the 1st tune and with a crash one guitarist started Honkey Tonk Woman while the other started Johnny B Goode. The echo, confusion and all didn't help us understand what we were hearing at first so they kept on going.
All of the sudden each guitarists realized they were playing a different song and BOTH switched at the same time! We continued the car crash and to be honest I don't recall how we got out of it but we eventually did.
No we didn't win.

The early 70's, a small club gig in Everett WA. A guy in the audience though our guitarist (John) was making eyes at his girl (which he probably was) so this guy started throwing fake punches at John's face as he sang (the stage was 1 foot high).
This esculated untill the guy actually side kicked the mic stand, John quickly moving aside while the mic stand and mic flipped and flew into my drums.
John was so mad by this time, his eyes enraged, the music ground to a hault, the crowd stopped dancing and they parted as this guy started to run for the door.
In one smooth continous motion John whiped off his 1956 Strat and threw it like a dart at the running man who was now 30 feet away and booking. It hit him square in the back and head, bounced off him landing face down on a long table of suprized women and proceeded to bounce around making the most un-godly noises (he had a 50 foot guitar chord still attached).
We took a break (and never came back), we were fired (which is the embarrassing part).

From a lighthearted show my roommate and his brother and I did back on St. Patty's day...
In between songs wiping the sweat from my hair and giving the horns... what a goon...
Here, looking very emo and probably singing Silverchair's 'Tomorrow'.....
But here's for real rockin out!

i'll tell you something real embarassing! When I was in high school jazz, I was suppossed to play a solo (trombone back then). My solo was to be 12 bars, but when I stood up, I got nervous and accidentally only played about 6! I sat down and realized that I had sat down way too soon! Those 6 bars of silence were pretty embarassing, especially when my friend's dad brought it up after the concert! It's hard to count when you're on the spot!

Ah - mulletts...
There appears to be a very pudgy older version of Ben on 2nd guitar, too - older brother perhaps??
