I'm just curious ... I have a Last.fm account and have been using many of the features a year ago, but not really since they had their relaunch.

Yes, both to keep track of what I listen to and how much (it's kind of interesting), and to discuss Prog with like-minded people.

I use it for the charts, for the radio, fir sigs, well, apparently not the PA forum sig, but I do have a link here. Perhaps I should get the chart.

last.fm is usually no substitute for research so it's mostly a signature feeder.

however it did remind me about miriodor and egg yesterday so I love it for that

I use it but I hardly ever listen to music on my computer so it's pretty useless. I like looking at the charts and such though

Yup, I use it (though strangely enough, not as my sig). Mainly for the same reasons as Philéas.

Edit: Joined the band wagon! Tongue

Tried to set up an account, failed horribly, gave up.

Its cool to have a nice list of stuff you listened to, but I can always do that on my own (and some of them are recorded in my iTunes anyway).

You can use the new signature mode on my website ( http://www.progtology.com - http://www.progtology.com ) ... simply enter the albums you listened to, and you get a playlist signature very similar to the one for Last.fm.

i use it to see stats on what I play, and to see what others like, but visit it only at irregular intervals. I wrecked my sound card, so \I have only started using it again two weeks ago, after two months of listening only on my MP3 player and hifiset.

Yep, I use it for sig feeding, and I visit the website regularly.

It's kinda useful, because it lets me see which artists I have been listening too much to, and which I have been listening too little to. If there is an interesting artist way down on my charts, I'll try and 'kick' myself into giving their music a shot.

Yeah, but I don't have a signature.  Lately, I've been using the CD and record players more, and that doesn't register with Last.fm of course.

I can't help it, I love the charts. In a roundabout way it feeds my sig (it's a program that takes the pictures of my most tracks played per album) I'm too much of a music nerd to pass up an oppurtunity to have tehse cool little charts saying everything I play

I use it in full, but many of you'd probably laugh or develop new hatreds for me if you visited and looked at what i listen to...

i only listen to about 1/3 or less "prog" ... i like lots of music...

I like to keep a tab on my listening trends, and of course for my signature. Other than that I only use it to look at what my friends are listening to.

probably because I've been listening to prog lately. Giove it a week, and tons of non-prog and ABSOLUTELY non-prog will get itself hooked into the chart...I just got the program back the other week too, as my computer is new. 1/3 was perhaps a small overstep, considering what everyone considers prog and what's not....if prog is just 70s music...i'd give myself about 1/12 or less...if you count the modern stuff, it bumps up to 1/3 or so.

Lately I've been listening to lots of Rufus Wainwright and just an odd assortment of songs from my 10000+ song library--took forever to get it all back onto my computer...one reason why new computers SUCK.

But I like this computer
