Maybe the question is not the right one but what I mean is, what other activities do you follow or practice PERIODICALLY and DEEPLY? (let me explain these, damn:)
Movies - not the casual movie goer or the one that has a few dvds and goes every week but the fan that KNOWs about movies, has watched a lot of OLD movies, really LOVES the art.
Literature-the same, not the casual "da vinci code" reader (not that I have anything against that book, but I mention it as a bestseller) but the average reader of old and new masterpieces.
Painting - lover of the art, knows his Picasso, Dali, Miro, rembrandt, goya, velazquez, The T....
History - I mean, the news and politics fan that loves to READ but not novels and stuff but HISTORICAL or SOCIOLOGICAL books.
Sports - either the huge fan who follows a sport on tv (any kind of game, knows the rules, etc) or the one that practices it REGULARLY and WITH WINNING PURPOSES. (I don't know how to explain but I hope you get the point)
EGAMES - the gaming freak, the one that own a few consoles and plays at least a few minutes a day.
I have interest for movies mainly (have more than 600), WAS a huge soccer fan (till I got into soccer-paradise United States) was an average reader (don't know what happened, prog and music itself killed the library mouse), and I have to say, I will play Egames till i die.... I also love history.
So you? (Multiple votes allowed)

voted for belly-enhancing. i also love a lot of classic science fiction books and classic gaming so I'll vote for the closest options.
I find history tedious as best and embarassing at worst - reading about all the ridiculous and terrible things the human race have "achieved" makes me long to be a part of a different one altogether ;P

I read almost constantly. More often than I listen to music and spend time on here combined.
Seriously I have read so much. At least 20 books in the past 3 months.

Then we have to adapt that one to the "belly" option... though it doesn't work.... man.... it also doesn't work in the "movies" option....let's say in "other"....

Modern physics and cosmology (science in general), literature (mainly science fiction, beat poetry, ect.), history, politics, and SEX.
I used to be really into model rockets but I just can't afford it any more with all the music I buy ( ). Same with video games but I don't regret that as much.

I understand where you're coming from. There are too many a-holes on skateboards (those that are in it because of the trend) that give bad reputation to those who aren't (those who do it for the love of it). I personally can't stand them and I'm a skater!

Jody, you're a constant surprise... I didn't know you were obsessed with my own (Eternal) hometown! How soon can I expect a visit? I'd love to show you around!
As to my own hobbies and interests... Probably too many to list here. Let's see... literature/reading (which overlap with my professional concerns), history, current affairs and art out of this list. Other hobbies I have are travelling, cooking (I'm fairly decent at that, like most Italians) and handicrafts like stitching and cardmaking. I used to go to the movies much more often up to five-six years ago, but now I've pretty much given that up - same applies to the theatre (though I've had some acting experiences as an amateur).
Ah, then I have another, quite consuming interest, which can't really be mentioned here...

Well, I am interested in History, but I voted Other, as History is just a mere part of my full ouevre.
I am primarily interested in Genealogy (which coincides with History) and Aviation (again, it coincides with History), as well as the obvious music-loving traits.
I also like to read as often as I can (which isn't as often as I'd like) and I am currently enjoying fantasy-fiction, but I also like Charles Dickens, H.G. Wells and more folk-lore based stuff, like that of Lord Dunsany.
I have also recently been reliving my youth (or in this case, living a youthful activity I didn't actually do in my youth) and that is playing Dungeons and Dragons. This naturally stems from my love of fantasy-fiction and some of the novels I have read, are infact related to the world of the Forgotten Realms, so they naturally gel together perfectly.
I am also wishing to be a keen writer and I occasionally write poetry and the odd short story, but I'm far from being prolific with this.
As for movies: well, I rarely watch television and I've not been to the cinema in quite some time.
The only time I really watch any television is when there is either a) an interesting concert on b) an interesting program about music c) something about History or genealogy and d) a good comedy program (which are few and far between)
So I have a lot of interests that keep me occupied.
Oh and I have also been playing some RPG PC games recently (again, they're set in Forgotten Realms).
No rest for the wicked it seems.

I enjoy reading but I haven't had as much time to read as I would like recently.
I'm one of those sad PC gamers who constantly throws money at their computer to keep it fairly current, but I refuse to play any so called massively multiplayer online games (World of Warcraft etc) simply because if I want to play a game with other people, I do it with friends rather than people I don't know, also I don't like having to pay a subscription just to play a game. The games I usually play are strategy or simulation games as they offer hours of entertainment instead of half an hour of mindless violence.
Still involving my PC, I do enjoy designing things (usually cars or aircraft) in CAD programs.
I used to be heavily in to electronics but the constant burns from soldering irons got to me and the expense of some parts is prohibitive giving my music buying habits.
If I had the space I'd also have a decent model railway layout as I love building things and building the scenery for a model railway would be a challenge I'd enjoy.
I also have an interest in practically anything with an engine that moves.

Movies - was into it (at the cinemas, never at home) until the medium went completely dry in the late 90's. Go to see four movies a year, now!! Never collected movies in any form >> can't understand those who do.
TV: Mostly at my girlfriend's place where we generally watch documentary (she's a strong "intelligent TV " fan), and I watch few series but only with her. News and documentaries are what I consider TV for.
Literature - read a lot of classic, but find a lot of them rather unhelpful in today's personal interest. I read few novels (but I have a certain passion for the Belgian-French "comics strips", which has nothing to do with Magas or superheroes).
Painting - most of my interest in arts is of the 20th century, beit painting or sculpting. But there is more trash from thar same century than most of the others centuries altogether
History, geography and geopolitics: love it to death in certain periods, gets rather sick of it in others. Usually linked to world news or new books arriving on the shelves
Sports : Spectator:While in America, I followed NHL and NFL, then in Europe was more into cycling, but since the Festina scandal (98) I hardly follow it anymore (or any other sports >> just look at standings in the newspaper mostly and the occasional article). As participant: a bit of cycling and swimming, but I should do more
Egames: no interest at all >> although I must say that some of those graphics... Myst, Tomb Raiders, and those developped by Benoit Sokal are superb, but I could never spend the time to get good at using the stuff >> mostly watch my friends once they get good at them.
Boardgames (those with dice and strategy): maybe once or twice a year.
Music: I hate it all , never spend an ounce of time listening to that crap; I am just here for the trolling

I prefer the smaller gauges as you can get a lot in to a small space, my stuff is all German N gauge, I would like to build a Swiss HOm narrow gauge layout at some point though.
But I'm at university so I don't have the room to use my current track or build a permanent layout.

i was the freak voting "Don't have any interests ,life is boring, kill me"
actually this is because
- since i started working (ordinary job, nothing connected to my professional background) i don't have the time i formerly used for my hobbies and also i couldn't set a better time&activities management in order to get that back and/or draw new interests. while before i was a heavy reader (i took the book and only released it when finished), in the last 6 months i read only (almost) three novels... art is also keeping me less and less busy, almost to 0, but it doesn't count as a lost hobby as art was the my professional playground before. my interest & desire for film is still strong but coming back home tired doesn't set the mood for it. TV is not what i would consider a hobby because of random contents and because of the little fruition. i don't even have a TV set. PC Games i quit long time ago because i feel they're only waste of time (for me). the poor capacities of my computer also inhibit my rare tentatives towards gaming.
- since my short-sightedness has incresead and doesn't let me play any sporting games without my glasses anymore, footbal and basket-ball are also out of the hobby list. (i wouldn't play with glasses on as they're too expensive for me to break).
so this leaves me with... nothing. shoot me!

It's easy to be knowledgeable about the SW movies but the real test is your knowledge of the Star Wars EU(Expanded Universe),which I am really into.I can give you very detailed back story on very minor characters in the films,or ones that are alluded to in the films. The EU is incredible, and if you like Star Wars you should start delving into the vast amount of EU books that are available.

Let's see:
1 I like science fiction. Of any kind, as long as it's good SF, not a space-opera. SF-related movies, SF-related-books, memorabilia, SF-music (one of the reasons why I got into prog).
2 I have a passion for secession. Not the political one; I mean art noveau, Gustav Klimt, paintings, buildings, Budapest, Vienna, fonts, design, any visual art from the end of the 19th and beginning of 20th century.
3a Music. I play keyboard, bass, guitar, mandolin and several other string instruments. 3b I used to examine very carefully scales, relations, structures, harmony, intervals...I'm trying to discover something new. I don't know what, though. 3c Sound synthesis. Oscillators, filters, sine waves, modulations, LFO, ADSR, frequency modulation, additive & subtractive synthesis. I reached the point where I can create convincing grand piano sound using sine waves and FM synthesis. I created a few synths with unique, advanced architecture (only on paper, though, I don't have money, resources or knowledge of electronics). Which leads me to... 3d Collectioning of vintage keyboards & synths. Unfortunatelly, no Moogs or any modulars yet.
There are few other things, but they are not so relevant nowadays. To summarize: the closest choice would be movies and literature, but I'm more into an art genre than an art type.
Btw, I'm 100% anti-sport person. I tried; absolute failure. Decided not to like sports.

I picked other.
My passion is puzzles of all sorts, math, logic, word, jigsaw, ...
I also love games, not e-games though. My two favourites are bridge and role-playing, and I'm a big fan of party games, boardgames (esp strategy), card games.
And reading - I read quite a bit.
Oh, love sports but I'm to old for the aggressive ones. These days I prefer golfing & swimming (summer), skiing & skating (winter), darts and pool (all year).
Another hobby is cooking, one I'm looking forward to developing as the kids grow up and I have more leasure time on my hands.
Wine, did I mention wine? Hmmmm, wiiiiiine...
I try not to watch much TV. When I do it is mostly sports and movies.
I did go through a belly enhancing phase - now I'm trying to minimize my rate of growth! (and hopefully reverse it)

I don't study it, but architecture is one of my big interests.

i'm glad to know that. here's a gift for you, a few pictures i've made to some of the most beautiful architectural sites i got to see:
http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=luminaps6.jpg"> http://img77.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ordinemt1.jpg"> http://img77.imageshack.us/my.php?image=smariadellapaceeh0.jpg"> http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=interiorulxi9.jpg"> http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ivoxw4.jpg">
do you know who's the architect of the palace from the 4th photo? it seems pretty unspectacular, but this architect is much more famous than all the others - which i think you easily guessed.

Used to be big into video games, but that stopped recently (mostly due to the fact I don't have money anymore). Politics interest me a good amount as does random fact collecting.
Not really a hobby but I do love to go driving (mostly randomly) and find a spot to just walk around, or watch the clouds or something. Or just constantly driving with no stops.
And storm watching. Nothing is better than standing on my porch watching the thunderstorms pass.
I'll vote other.

Andu, you rule! All those pics were taken in the beautiful (not to mention Eternal) city where I was born... I don't see a fourth pic here, but the church in the third one is one of Francesco Borromini's masterpiece - and, incidentally, the place itself hosts the Archives of the Italian State, so it has something in common with this site!

Rome rules! It's THE place to be, and fortunately I've been there (just for so short time, though). And, especially for art lovers and students. Well, some may argue that no, the greatest place in the world is Venice, because of the higher density of art/square-meter, but Rome it's much more spiritual, the fact that Rome does not look like a stuffed museum, it also has periods of nothing spectacular and not so very colourfull, well that gives the whole "composition" a sobriety that I find much more spiritual - that I can say it's comparable (in it's own way) to the spirituality of the holy mountain of Athos (where I've also been).
I wonder why do you see only three picture thumbnails as I've posted five of them, all taken from the same fileshare site. The first is Bramante's Tempietto, the second is a mediaeval chiostro (I need to check my papers, it could be San Lorenzo fuori le mura or San Paolo, which have not kept the architect's names), the third is Pietro da Cortona's Santa Maria della Salute, and the fifth is indeed Borromini's Sant'Ivo. I'll wait for Phileas' vote for the fourth picture, he seems to be a great architecture connaiseur

Reading, games(both sports and video)... there are also various other sciences and art forms I'd like to explore, but lately (for the last 3 years or so) I have been plunged in a depressed state of mind where you hardly want to explore anything new, so cross me out from the list of adventurous, interesting people on this site.

I'm unsure. Brunelleschi?

No... Now I understood that the 4th picture is the second for me, as I can't visualise the two in between. It's Michelangelo Buonarroti, and it is the court of the Palazzo della Cancelleria - quite unspectacular from the outside, as Andu said, but very much so on the inside.
As to Pietro da Cortona's church, it is Santa Maria della Pace - Santa Maria della Salute is in Venice!

It's a very good choice, because Brunelleschi was the founder of the Renaissance architectural style of Florence which was the main source and influence for this (also Florentine) architect. The Florentine style is strong in the facade's style of this palace, namely il Palazzo della Cancellaria from Rome, whose exterior (that of the interior courtyard) was drawn by.... Michelangelo.
I see the answer was given while I was writing... Well done, good answers! And yes, S.Maria della Pace, what a missconnection, I wasn't attentive ... Sorry.

My interests include many things. I already mentioned literature-reading. Most of my interests involve around that. Like James, I play RPG type games set in Forgotten Realms and read books about the same place. I read books on art. I also try to draw occasionally (it's pretty bad, imo) and I watch movies (mostly based on books that I have read). Another interest of mine is being a pyromaniac. I like lighting stuff on fire!

Also burning chemicals that don't burn hot and holding them is really fun. And dousing your friends hand in said chemical and lighting his hand on fire.

There are a lot of things I'm interested in, but nothing comes close to music. I used to play a lot of video games, but the past year I play maybe an hour a week maximum. Sometimes I read, but not too much, maybe a book every month or so. I NEVER watch TV, sometimes movies though, but not really often. In school, I'm interested in history and science mainly, sometimes math and english too, it depends.
I also like cooking and walking around outside (it's too cold for that now, but it's great in the summer).

Movies: I can't get enough of them! My all-time favorite is Donnie Darko, but my taste ranges from that to Ocean's 11. Also, if TV shows are included, I don't like Many, but I do love some... Like the Early Seasons of the West Wing and CSI.
Other: I like Roleplaying, I play Dungeons and Dragons, and I like writing because I'm in another persons mindset, but I don't have the patience to read, go figure.
