Hey! I've downloaded this version some weeks ago and, altough I like it in many aspects, I find to much limitation in it, and to be not very manageable. But maybe some problems that I have can be solved, it was maybe just me (lets hope so).
Well here they are (sorry if I make a bad transduction, the software is in Spanish): 1. When I put the option: Take the Year the Album was recorded and use the criteria to order the Albums, the Abums are ordered from the newest to the oldest Why not the other way? 2. When I stop listening an Album and close the Windows Media, the next time I don't have any reference on which track I was hearing, and the older version even showed you the track selected 3. When I make some changes in the way I want the order of my Albums to be showed, the software doesn't save it and I have to do it every time when I open it
Well, this are the problems that bother me right now ( I'm sure I will find more), so I hope you got the Idea, and could help me in this "huge" () problem I have...
PS : Feel free to discuss any Windows Media 11 related issue!

I prefer Winamp ... but I agree that WMP 11 is an improvement over the old version.

I can't use WMP for playing MP3s as they jump all the time and I never have got to the bottom of it. Like Mike, I use Winamp instead.

I'm a WMP user, never had problems with it. Version 11 takes some getting used to though but I'veb got to grips with it now.

What I found to be rather dull was that when you choose to see the so-called 'classic menu' that it is totally out of design with the rest of the program...
and I haven't discovered the option to NOT start in the medialibrary yet

I dont like it!
After I start to play an album WMP11 plays the track but refuses to do anything else for the next, say, one minute or so. It doesnt minimise properly or move to another track when instructed during this time. Just a minute or so but it is irritating. I get the feeling it is indexing my files or something.

I thought this was a problem with my slow PC. Oh well WMP 11 must be very system demanding.

^ it's designed for Windows Vista ... that's also why the "Classic Menu" is not properly designed. It's a deprecated feature and will most likely be discontinued.
Many users will not be able to adapt to Vista ... the concept of the menu bar has become the basis for all programs, and now Microsoft simply decides to ditch it.

^ there are plugins that can show the album covers just like that ... and although I like that feature, it never really worked in WMP, at least not with my huge collection. It's a nice feature which you find great at the beginnung but eventually end up never using (IMO).

Regarding the ordering of albums I am sure there is a button you can click that will reverse the sorting order..yes, I checked, click on "release year" and the albums re-arrange.

I just opened up WMP 10 and it said there was an update available, so I clicked on "install" and after a couple of minutes got a message box saying "setup was unable to detect any updates". What is that all about?

I love the new WMP, it took some getting used to, but only because it had newer (more functional) features. It's learned new tricks, which has lead me to have to as well. But, everything can be done out of the new media library, it's great.
Unfortunately I'm having some problems with my hardware, which lead me to reinstall (trying to troubleshoot, I guess) windows but now I can't download SP2 without my comp crashing, so I'll have to wait to use WMP11 again.
