The beats were certainly very important to the late 60's revolution
Beit Kerouac, Ginsbrurgh, Burroughs or Cassidy, the inspired many musicians and some of those lyrics writers >> Pete Brown's Cream lyrics
Sinfield and Keith Reid were also very close to beat poetry. ------------- let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Don't forget Daevid Allen. He was friends with William S. Burroughs, lived in the famous Beat Hotel for a while, and made music for them. You can definetely see influences of beat poetry in his writing. -------------

Too much hate in this poll Wizard!!! I voted for Love Them All just because your options are so poor. Beatnik movment is more than Ginsberg poetry or Thompson's travels across USA.. Was a way of life, a way to mede music breaking the stabishment aand a way to live.. The beatnik stuff -with virtues and vices- opens many doors to arts to be what they are on these days...
