Earl Grey or Lady Grey for me. I also like iced tea when I'm thirsty. Tea is always refreshing.
I'm also quite partial to Chinese tea at the end of a Chinese meal and I have a Twinings vanilla black tea which is rather an acquired taste.

I am a major tea drinker but 3/4 of it is iced tea (which I make myself).

Thiose ready made teas are awful.

Both - hot in winter, iced in summer. Like Hugues, though, I hate ready-made iced tea, which has nothing to do with the real thing. I prefer black tea to green tea, and I drink hot tea mostly without any addition - I only take milk when I am in Britain, because the water tastes different than in Italy.

Should try it with raspberries and blueberries (the fruits not juices) slowly sinking to the bottom of the glass and soaking up some tea.

However I never put milk in my tea. I think it is heresy.

Prefer black teas from iced teas, but for hot teas, nothing beats green teas >> especially the morroccan way.

Hot tea exclusively!!! And made by myself, if possible (but sometimes I have no choice other than to use the tea bags -- quite a substitute of tea (I mean, not real tea)).

The black tea is preferred upon the green one.

No additions -- no sugar, no milk. For me to add something to the tea is to spoil it.

it's a British thing, or more like a Welsh thing (too much goats and sheep and a surplus of milk)Wink

I can't possibly think of a good tea coming from Darjeeling or a superbly spiced Orange pekoe or Earl Grey (a tad to lemon to accompany the bergamot)  and simply waste it with a cloud of milk (a cumulo-nimbus rather than a cyrus too)

I know it's a British thing, I am just saying I can't possibly imagine the two intertwined. I've actually never tried tasting it (perhaps I should), but as of now I find it absolutely mind-boggling how tea can be mixed with milk and the whole thing is supposed to be drunk. Wacko

I add only a slight dash of milk. Not too much, and for certain teas like Earl Grey, I don't add milk at all.

What I meant by  this British thing was opposed to that Russian way of drinking tea (I am not a fan,  because I do not like the tea blends) and their way of putting hard alcohol in tea.

I know that Latrvians are not Russians (although around 50% of the population is), but I'm sure you've been exposed to this kind of phenomenum

I am a tea junkie! I drink cold tea more often than water, I believe.

Here are my favorites:

Cold teas: dark only, not sweetener at all on most occasions, generally plain

Hot teas: so many varieties! Rooibos tea is great with a bit of honey, Earl Grey is very good, all dark teas with sugar enough to taste it, not overwhelming. My favorite teas are those above, Chinese teas, African teas (various bushes), and generally all dark teas.

MATTÉ! But maybe you have to be Brazilian to appreciate this exquisite infusion... Big smile here we drink basically cold, very cold. Some people prefer the congonhas style, which is warm or hot. People drink more matte-tea in Brazil than coffee (or guarana or any soda).

Another infusion I appreciate, due to my Southern Brazilian roots is the CIMARRÓN or CHIMARRÃO, taken absolutely hot, very hot and sour. In our western borders, near Paraguay, people like the TERERE, which is taken cold and sometimes sweetened (I like this one).

I drank matté many times in Latin America, but I always think of it more as an Andean drink than Brazil rainforest drink

It is almost the national drink of Argentinia (the Pampa and Patagonia) and Chile. Peru and Bolivia are also heavy drinkers of this (when not infusing Coca leaves)

Well, I do live in Latvia, but I am 3/4 Russian and 1/4 Ukrainian, so my food is closer to the Russian traditions rather than the ethnic ones, which includes tea as well. And no, I don't mix any alcohol in my tea (LOL), but I do make it the traditional Russian way with zavarka and all.

Ah... the erva-mate (matté) is very typical of Southern Brazil, also Paraguay and Argentina, but the cold drink is widespread thru the country, especially at the beaches when people drink matté with lemon and fried shrimps. Tasteful.

Brazilian painter Cândido Portinari made a nice painting of the erva-mate fields:

You can get one of this at almost any place here (in this case, tangerine flavor). Smile

Both.

Hot: English breakfast tea, no sugar, very little milk and strong enough to remove the enamel from your teeth is my usual preference, although I also like Japanese green tea and North African/Middle Eastern mint tea. Chai is OK as long as it's not too sweet.

Cold: Liptons iced tea - peach, mango or lemon flavour (in that order), or Japanese oolong  or green tea.

Ah yes - Tunisian mint tea tiny glass, scaldingly hot & usually with so much sugar, you can actually feel your teeth dissolve.

That's the problem - if it's made properly, I find it too cloying; to be honest, I prefer the commercially made Chai, as it's nowhere as sweet.
