Please note what choice is missing here. Basic math folks. Don't let me see that happen again or I will have to send Chef Ramsey to curse at you.

Grouchy old prog fan.

I'm guessing it's a response to all the reviews listed at 3 stars, when right afterwards it says "3.5 stars really." Slarti says the review should round up to 4 (nice nickname, by the way).

Agree. Also, you have an awesomely cool name... even though it's "not important."

No it doesn't. It depends on how many digits you use in the process of rounding. Depending on that, 3.49 either rounds to 3 or 3.5.

3,1 to 3,4 is rounded to 3,5.
3,5 to 3,9 is rounded to 4,0

So my answer is 4, how hard can it be!? LOL

I guess I am the culprit hereEmbarrassedWink

Actually I really think that this 3,5 is really 3,5 but if I give this rating, it is mostly because of the defition of the star rating and the notion of what is essential

3 is good but non-essential >> self explanatory  >> you do not need it really, but it is nice to have (but generally I make compilations of 3* and get rid of them)

3.5 is not yet essential to me. It certainly means better than good >> very good, can even sometimes mean excellent , but it is not really the best ones around from the artistes. so you could own first the other higher rated albums well before getting this one

4 is definitely essential and can be very good or excellent, but it is essential in terms of the music's importance (historical or inside the group's discography)

BTW

Rouding off

below 3.25 is 3.0
above 3.25 until 3.75 is 3.5
above 3.75 is 4.0

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Arghhhhhh!!!!

If we are rounding at all, surely we should round to WHOLE NUMBERS???  3.49 only rounds to 3.5 if you are rounding 2 significant figures.

GAH!!!!!!

There's no need to round.... You americans and british should adopt the metric system and peace will come even to Irak and Korea and everything else....

But I see this has nothing to do with the metric system.... Ok, bad cheap piece of system-advertisement....

Let's add quarter points to our star ratings:

1,1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, etc....

That would be good for people like me who don't know how to rate albums as ELP's Brain Salad Surgery... 1 for not rock or 5 for a genre of its own -prog-.... I would do the math and it would come at 2.5
