I haven't heard it, but Genesis meets Eloy sounds interesting.  I only want to know if it's the same "Genesis" sound on their first album, which didn't sound much like Genesis (or very good, for that matter).

Clutching at Strawbs, eh?Wink

Umm... I think it's just a natural progression from the Misplaced Childhood sound... so Marillion style Neo Prog as Andy said.

Eloy sounds like a premature neo-prog band indeed, but so did the Moody Blues.

if you want you can hear a connection between neo-prog and Eloy, but I don't think it's a drirect influence, rather a coincidence and similar influences (Moody Blues and Pink Floyd mostly)

For me Clutching sound more like a cross between The Who and Moody Blues, with some floydian elements and of course a little Tony Banks, but I haven't heard the album for some years now.
