I used to be really keen on the old site. For example, if I was searching for information on Ulver's Perdition City, I would just type in something like 'natt' or another short combination of letters which is particular of that band only, and would be taken straight to that exact band's page.

Now, with the new Google search, that facility is lost, and you are no longer delivered to the band page you would like to. Moreover, searching takes more time and whenever I do find what I have been searching for, the page takes abnormally long to load and I end up typing the criteria of search into my Google bar, much to my displeasure.

Surely, there is some use of the Google search, but can we use both? How about a "go" button along with the "search" one, similar to that of Wikipedia, where "go" sends you to the desired page, whilst "search" launches a (in our case, Google) search?

Would be a really appreciated addition to the website. Big smile

I've complained about this. Now it doesn't bother me anymore.

So try to type more than "natt". LOL

But, since it's a newly made interest, I have to ask: do freshly included bands get their search results? cause I've used once the search for a band that got recently added and there was no response.

if they don't, it really should be "real-time" search. Wink

^ the new search facility uses Google. And since it takes a few weeks until Google adds new pages to the index, there's nothing that can be done to speed it up.

It's not a problem because new bands appear on the 'NEW ARTISTS/BANDS' list on the About Prog Archives pages - by the time they drop off the list they will have come up on Google

I don't see a problem with it, just type in "Ulver" instead and you get a link to their biog page. It seems pretty quick as well. Alternatively you can use the band index from the home page.
