If other, specify which.
Me? I vote for Paschandale from their recent "Dance of Death" album. It
is possibly their most progressive song and not only that, it just
kicks major a$$. The musicianship, riffs, and songwriting here are Iron
Maiden at their very best!

Voted for Hallowed be thy Name which is my favorite Maiden track....but why didn't you include The Number of the Beast? I wouldn't have voted for it, but surely someone would.

I may be the only one: sign of the cross, I mean, in a progressive context.... is long and it's good.... I DID like x-factor, I don't think is as bad as people say only because Dickinson wasn't there....
But off course, fear of the Dark is Maiden's true greatest track....
An unknown track from the same album, Judas be my Guide is good, too.

Fear Of The DARK !!!
It's definitely the best Iron Maiden track. (For me)
The beginning of the song is truly awesome !

I haven't listened to them in years; but, I remember "Where Eagles Dare" from Piece Of Mind as being pretty incredible.

Killers and Seventh son of a seventh son are almost tied, but the former wins. Powerslave follows close behind.

Just got Powerslave yesterday, and it's great, but I was expecting a bit more diversity. It's my only Maiden cd.
Overall, I'd say my favorite track is Run to the Hills, but since that's not on the list, Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

My personal favorite is "The Trooper", but the question asked for "the ultimate Maiden track".
The context of that, in my opinion, is a little different than "what's your favorite?", so I chose Hallowed Be Thy Name, which is an epic masterpiece.

I'd probably go with Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, too - honourable mentions as well go to Wrathchild, Flight Of Icarus, Powerslave & Children Of The Damned.
Great band - good to see them enjoying something of a renaissance these days

Agreed. The Trooper's opening riff and main melody sucks me in every time I hear it; classic Maiden. but Hallowed is a more complete, diverse song.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son! There's just something special in that song, something that makes it the best song ever. Alexander the Great is almost as good as SSoaSS, but SSoaSS is still the best. The interludes in the middle are just amazing! In both of the songs.

It changes from time to time, some past favorites have been for example Powerslave, Infinite Dreams and Revelations, and since the latest album came out, I've lifted Lord of Light above others. I think it's the best vocal performance by Bruce ever (just listen to him in that "free your soul and let it fly" part), it's got fantastic metal riffing and the atmosphere is really strong. Love it.
