Hey everyone I just got back from the NYC acoustic show tour and have some photos to share of me in complete ecstacy meeting people i didnt even think existed, only as gods of music that I would never ever get to meet!

The show was out of this world, played ridiculously great songs, alot from Grave New World including New World, The Flower and the Young Man, and Benedictus!

The band just came out and was hanging with a few people, so I got to meet all of em, Lambert, Chas and Cousins...Cousins took two pictures with us because he wanted to hahaha, and they were probably some of the absolute nicest guys I have ever met in my life.  Lambert took a picture and went out for a "smack" in the back of the building.  I was like ready to pass out, I love these guys to death....anyways theres alot more that happened but all in all, spectacular night, out of this world performance and just overall epic night.  It was me, my bro and my sis!

It was interesting to know we were the ONLY people our age there, I was kind of suprised, it ended up being a pretty personal night because the venue was quite small and we stood out like a soar thumb hahaha!  But wow, truly amazing, check it out!  They are playing acoustic shows every year supposedly, and Electric Tour is coming back in 2007, AMAZING!!

Hahahha!  Oh man it was ridiculous how they were just so open and out there to hang with everyone.  We saw lambert and chas smoking outside and they were smiling at us like "hey! We'll be back on in a little!"  So friendly, we were supposed to pay for the second show but Lambert said we should definitely stay and then the waitress came and said no charge, that was awesome, maybe he told her!!!???

They played at least 20 some odd songs, for two different shows...along the lines of:

Autumn
Heroins Theme (whcih had the whole place clapping drunk and going nuts!)
The Flower and the Young Man
Benedictus
Midnight Sun (Encore First Show)
Cold Steel
The Man Who Called Himself Jesus
Shine on Silver Sun
New World
Ghosts
Lay Down
Golden Slamander (Encore Second Show)
Oh How She Changed
Two Weeks Last Summer

He also mentioned their first single and some other Sandy Denny stuff, he played maybe only one or two songs I wasnt firmiliar with, may have been very early or later on.

He speaks before each performance like an english poet it is so awesome, he just gets you ready for each show...he describes alot of song meanings to whcih was cool!

The joint was too dark, and they wouldnt allow flash photography...so no shots of them on stage!

But there are plenty of shots of em on strawbsweb in the same vein.  They just sit cousins in front, lambert to his left, and cronk to his right...absolutely amazing.

Very dark and moody atompshere, especially when they changed the lighting for autumn and certain parts, just amazing!!

Great pics, Brian!!

What a coincidence!!! In the same moment I was viewing the Strawbs' website (saturday) and knew of that NY tour, then you were going to see them live!!

You lucky guys!!!Clap

How I wish I could have been there too!!!Cry

BTW, I consoled myself with Deep Cuts (new 2005 reissue with the Lambert' bonus track "You Won't See the Light". After two months, it arrived just the last saturday in the morning).Wink

The thing that suprises me is how people DONT love music this much!!!  I was baffled when i met them, I am still getting over the experience, it was traumatizing in an awesome way Clap
