Mr. Bungle's Disco Volante is probably the freakiest, most unorthodox
thing I've heard. A brilliant album nonetheless. Most of Magma's
material qualifies aswell, and KC kan be very freaky at times.

![Clap](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif) Hilariously brilliant, from start to finish (like all Mr. Bungle albums)

If First utterance by comus is considered freaky (besides Woottons vocals, i mean), then that'd definately be my pick. It's absolutely magnificent, a masterpiece in my book.

Not as freaky as TMV. But they can be very freaky at times. I'd say they're on the same level as KC.

I've never heard Secret Chiefs 3 before, but they seem interesting, given it's Trey Spruance...

Disco Volante is not oly freaky, it's a perfect album musically and one of my top 3 all time favorites.
Strange only Blowie mentioned John Zorn, he made some insane(and brillian at that) music.
Japanese Zeuhl like Ruins and Koenjihyakkei is alsome some great freaky stuff.

Well pretty much what you'd expect really, like Mr
Bungle only without Mike Patton's not inconsiderable input. No real
singing I guess is the biggest difference.

Aside from the stuff already mentioned, i'll say Vortex, and Kayo Dot (Toby Driver) have some pretty freaky stuff.

Since you've already mention Mr Bungle, Zorn, Kayo Dot, Sleepytime Museum Gorilla, Fantomas, I'm going to introduce an album that really has some of the freakiest atmosphere I've witnessed so far: Aphrodite's Child. If you listen carefully to this album you'll discover it is at times not only freaky, but even disturbing, of all the old prog quite possibly the reakiest for me [I don't consider KC, VdGG or Zappa to be freaky].

It's not freaky. It's creative and well done, and can send chills down your spine, but it's not out there weird. It's just unorthodox, which a lot of people seem to think is the same as freaky/weird.

I recently discovered a band called, "The Science Club" they are pretty new, the album I have is 2003. Last time I listened to it, I laughed because it was so good.
It's cool to see Sunn 0)) get their props. It took the night to believe scared me so much the first time I heard it. "Cry yourself to ash" is probably the most disturbing lyric I've ever heard.
------------- Yeah, we're runnin' a little bit hot tonight.
I can barely see the road from the heat comin' off of it.

Hmmm, well the more prog I listen too, the less freaky older prog becomes, so...
Absolute Zero - Crashing Icons Taal - Mister Green/Skymind (freaky in a good way!) Comus - First Utterance Univers Zero - 1313 Present - Triskaidekaphobie/Le Poison Que Rend Fou Sotos - Platypus Zaar - Zaar Alamaailman Vasarat - Kaarmelautakunta Koobas - Barricades (or self titled, depending on what source you read) (freaky, because it is quite amusing for a 1968/69 album)
Individual tracks:
Aphex Twin - Bucephalus Bouncing Ball (that hurts my ears!) Peter Hammill - Gog/Magog (In Bromine Chambers) Van der Graaf Generator - A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers
Astrid Pröll - 88MHz
