A pretty pointless poll in my opinion, since these to bands are almost impossible to compare. Both are good at doing their thing. Personally, I prefer King Crimson, so I voted for them.

I love both, but this time I'll vote for Yes.

Yes made some CDs that are better than Crimso's (during the first half of the Seventies) but Crimso have recorded a much, much larger number of excellent CDs than Yes.

King Crimson. In the Court and Lark's Tongues in Aspic beat the best Yes offered.

I voted KC for the vocals and the overall feeling of their albums (the ones I know).

I love CTTE but the KC debut and albums like Red, Lizard and Lark's.. do more for me than relayer, fragile and TFTO.

Yes is more complex and more enjoyable than King Crimson; nevertheless KC is a fantastic bandThumbs Up.

Uhh... are you sure? KC is one of the most complex classic prog bands!

I can't pick between the two; they're both great and not similar enough to compare.

Congratulations! You just won first prize in the "Incorrect statement of the day" competition! You may enjoy Yes more, but KC are more complex.

None of them is "better" than the other. What are the judging criteria?

From these two, I prefer King Crimson.

No contest here. Yes are in my top five groups (at their best) whilst I have never been a lover of Crimson. Too dissonant and pointlessly unmelodic at times.

Crimson is brilliant. And unlike Yes, they know how to make a good comeback. Three times.

Only Judging criteria is "Which band's you find more appealing to your ears" or something like that. Not like i"s Yes more complex" or things like that.

Why did i vote for King Crimson? I find their music much more eerie, comfortable for the years and their compositions are just more interresting. Yes gets a bit "Soulless" sometimes, but don't get me wrong, i love Yes.

King Crimson, but I don't really like either of them.  I think they deserve credit for influence, but if you're looking for musical quality, I prefer Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Jethro Tull (among others) more.

Probably my two favourite bands! KC perhaps the more adventurous, the more consistent as well, but Yes at their very best - like Close to the Edge and Relayer - shade it for me.

KC. I don't like yes that much.

King CRIMSON  are probably the most inconsistent prog band and when they are off it, they were terrible!

YES WINSClap

Love both bands... But Crimson wins IMHO - they were more adventurous  and they never released such crap as "Open Your Eyes" and "Union".

Yes easily in the early years

1968-Yes is a decent debut (YES)
1969-Time and a word is good and ITCOTCK is decent but is one of the most overrated prog albums ever (YES)
1970-The yes album and Poseidon(underrated) are both great (DRAW)
1971-Fragile is a bit better than Lizard because Haskell has a crap voice (YES)
1972-CTTE is miles better than Islands (YES)
1973-Tales is too long but it's still a better listen than Larks which is pretty good (YES)
1974-Relayer and Red are both good, but overrated. Starless is mediocre (DRAW)
1977-GFTO is good but overrated (YES)
1978-Tormato is very good and underrated (YES)
