Where and when did Pil Collins first perform live with Genesis as vocalist? Who was on the kit?

The first time he is credited as lead vocalist on a track is 'more fool me' on 'Selling England', but if you listen to the vocals on 'For absent friends' on 'Nursery Cryme' (Collin's first album as Genesis drummer)..... well, I don't know, I think it's Collins, but cannot be sure

dear Jim,

Happy to confirm you it's Phil on "For Absent Friends"

I meant after Gabriel left and Phil officially became vocalist.

Ah, now that would have been on the 'Trick Of The Tail' tour in 1976(?) - a very nerve wracking time for the band, not knowing how audiences would take to a Gabriel-less Genesis and therefore a completely different live dynamic (especially as, when they played Hammersmith Odeon in London, Gabriel himself was front row, dead centre.... ).

On that tour, drumming duties were taken by Bill Bruford - at what point he was replaced by Chester Thompson, I am not sure, but I think it was mid-tour (no doubt somebody will clarify this).

Many thanks Tauhd for confirming Phil's vocals on 'For Absent Friends'

Yes ! I've checked that this tour began in spring '76 in Canada (Vibrationbaby) !

I think also that Bill left the tour probably during the second half of '76 (Bill was at this time a very busy man with reheasals/recordings of "Feels good to me" his first solo album and U.K., both released in '77).
