Who do you like more Muse or radiohead? When muse made their first album SHowbyz people started to compare them to radiohead. The most often oppinion was, that Muse is a cheaper coppy of radiohead, or another that muse is a metal version of radiohead, but I think that now they are a little bit better than Radiohead. Matt admits that he "borrowed" much of his vocal style from Thom Yorke - but doesn't almost everyone these days.
Other than that, Muse's music has very little in common with Radiohead's apart from the John Leckie production. When asked who do I like more, I have to go with Muse, since I prefer the all-out assault to Radiohead's subtleties. But that opinion is likely to change when Radiohead release their next album...  ------------- The important thing is not to stop questioning. |

Very tough one. Muse definetly have more talent, but obviously they don't use it very well and often repeat themselves. Radiohead push their boundaries and have made some of the most interesting modern prog music. So Radiohead it is... -------------

Yeah, I think so. Wolstenholme is an accomplished bass-player, Howard is good at making interesting beats that fit the music perfectly, and I need not tell you about Bellamy. As of Radiohead: To me it always seemed that Johnny Greenwood was the mastermind behind it all, and the others didn't play as big a part (excluding Thom). -------------

Radiohead is a very established and experienced band who experimented with music since their beginning and changed the way they play music alot. Plus they have extremely talented members.
One of wich is the composer in residence at the BBC and at least 3 are multi-instrumentalists.
I can't see how you could possible vote for Muse over that.
Besides they wouldn't do intervieuws with sh*tty magazines such as the Daily Weekend.
 But everyone can have their own opinion I guess.  -------------

maby yes, but I`m not interested what do they do in their spare time, but what I will see on the album. I think from musical side inventional albums of radiohead are The BAnds, OK COmputer, Pablo HOney a little, some Amneziac songs a few Kid a songs and a few Hail to the thief songs. The rest are boring electronic psycho songs(but someone can like it, I do not). The base problem of the electronic songs is, that there aren`t almosty any melodies or riffs. I only have Muse's debut and I find it so evidently inspired on Radiohead (The Bends era particullary) that I have no doubt about my choice in this poll. Anyway when I find time to listen to their latest albums I'll give them a chance. |

At this moment defintely Muse.
It is not the question who is better or more talented but who you like more. Just listened to Knights of ... (? eh? Sodomia?) Anyhow a great song. Uptempo I like Muse more. Slow songs must be Radiohead. |
