I see so many people getting into this album, and I don't "get" it. I like Prog Metal, especially Opeth. But this I just don't "get." Everyone is calling it a masterpiece, but what am I missing?

Hey, not everybody likes the same thing. If we did, the world would be boring as hell. Tool is one of those bands where there's virtually no middle ground - you either love 'em or you hate 'em. Same goes for the Mars Volta.

I think it's good but not a masterpiece.But if it was the same as Lateralus,it would have been disappointing.To me Lateralus is their masterpiece,but I don't think they peaked with that album.Their sound has always evolved,and will continue to do so.I expect some more "masterpieces" from them in the future.10,000 just isn't one,imo. -------------  |
