Sad. but true.  Here's the email to supporters.  This tour was suppose to start next week. Geez!

GREG LAKE TOUR 2006

To all my friends, fans and supporters and indeed to anyone who may have a reason to be concerned or interested.

It is with deep regret that I am forced to inform you about the cancellation of my forthcoming tour.

I want to make clear that this cancellation is in no way due to any unwillingness or inability on the part of the band or myself to perform and has been occasioned by circumstances wholly beyond my control.  I remained hopeful up until the eleventh hour that there was something I could do to ensure the tour went ahead as planned but it was not in my hands.

Unfortunately we have been badly let down by those engaged to manage the tour; this has lead to the tour not going ahead.  I am currently dealing with those responsible via my solicitors.

I would like to pay tribute to the outstanding loyalty and professionalism of the musicians in my band who were prepared to embark on this tour and ready to perform until the very last moment.

David Arch, one of the greatest musicians I have ever had the privilege of working with, Trevor Barry, a bass player of extraordinary musical ability and as solid a friend as anyone could ever wish for, Florien Opahle, a true genius who will become a huge guitar player in the years to come, and Brett Morgan who has everything one could possibly wish for from a drummer, a feel to die for and total dedication in every single beat he plays. We are all immensely disappointed by the cancellation of this tour.

I would also like to pay tribute to the girls in the band who despite having just recently come on board also remained strong and loyal throughout.

Catherine “Cat” Wood, Julia Hagne and Annella Kisoon. Each one enormously talented in their own right and some of the best people I have come across during my entire career.

I am deeply saddened that for the moment you were unable to witness the combined energy of this fantastic band on this tour and I very much hope that once all this has been resolved we can we can give the show that you deserve.

Plans are already underway to reschedule the tour for early in the coming year.

Most gratefully and indeed regretfully yours,

Greg Lake.

I just went on the St Davids Hall, Cardiff site to book tickets for Jon and Rick's tour and saw the Greg Lake gig was cancelled. Bugger.

Would you mind not posting when drunk, if it's not asking too much? I, for one, would enjoy being able reading what you've written...

I was going to go to Peterborough last night. When I rang to find out why it was cancelled they said legal reasons...seems like GL has fallen out with group who organised tour in UK (Jim Davidson I think, supposed comedian and big ELP fan)and he is going to sue them.

It was on the news recently that Jim Davidson had fbeen declared bankrupt. If he was the sponsor of this tour than it makes sense it's been cancelled! Seems even Greg couldn't bail him out?

Greg is not the only one who got to cancell his tour. Jon Anderson with Rick Wakeman got the same problems with the same promoter AC.entertainment ( Scotland). See by yourself.

What is going on here. I've got tickets for Anderson/Wakeman too. This is outrageous, bring back free festivals, that's what I say.

Can't tell you anymore than that... but I do know that according to the venues here in the US.. the dates have not been cancelled, only postponed to the Spring of next year.  That goes for the Anderson/Wakeman tour also.
