I work at a college as a Security Officer.....does that count?
We are a fifteen strong team and have two thousand students and staff in our care, the trouble is the spitting, swearing and bunking off.....and that's just the staff!LOL.......and as for the students....well!!! They think i was born yesterday sometimes, i was young once and i know all the tricks! Seriously i love the job and make many friends especially the naughty ones...when they're naughty they're VERY naughty!, i often meet them years after they've left and i hardly recognise them in their flash suits and sports cars....wish i'd gone to College! though i don't stand idly by, i do courses and exams too.  Geek

I didn't actually attend a college in the American or British sense, but I went to university and finished (quite a long time ago). Then I did a British MSc by distance learning (and finished in 1998), and I'm currently doing a PhD.

No college in the US/UK style here in Brazil. We go directly to the Universities and yes I went and finished the Mech. Eng. graduation.

I guess I'm confused as to what you mean by "no college in the US/UK sense", and then say you went to a university.  We often use the terms interchangably here; for example, I received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  When people ask me where I went to "college", that's what I tell them.

It is confused to us too, NS... but in the USA many kids go to the college only and later don't go to the Uni, as long as I know.

In other countries, after "high school" you have to choose Medicine, Engineering, Laws, Letters, etc, there is no other option.Confused

What surprises many people is that here in the Southern Hemisphere the school year begins, well, in accordance with the civil year - it goes from February until December, in general. Smile

Cant speak for the US or the rest of Europe, but in the UK we have compulsary education untill were 16, then we get to choose wether to go and get a job or go to a 6th Form/College (tend to be about the same thing but 6th orms are usually atached to a secondary school, in my experiance). You get 2 years (or 3 if you screw up a year,as I did) there and then you can go on to Uni. Of course some colleges run courses that can lat longer than 2 years.

I finished school 10 years ago (I was only 15!  I have a late birthday, so by the time College started, I was 16) and then I did 3 years at College (one 1 year course, one 2 year course) and then went on to University to study Computing and Information Systems and because I was useless, that took me 4 years (the same as everyone else, but they did a year out in Industry, whilst I failed my final year! and then I resat a few modules in my fourth year) to get through and I came out the other end with a 3rd, which is a bit crap!  But I did get an honours degree.

So my option isn't there either!

count me in with the went but never finished...for more years that I care to admit...

an idealist who went to be educated... and lost along the way that you are supposed to finish and enter the work force... hell if I hadn't got married and needed to drop my 'professional college student' moniker and get a real job.... I might still be there.... though I do think I am going to go back and finish.  Thinking about finishing off my math and history degrees... physics?.... no way.. that ship has sailed hahahah

though a lot of good that education  did though...

It breaks down like this. A University is a conglomeration of colleges. An independent college is much smaller, and has separate departments.

Well, he only says that the limit exists as music approaches perfection, but it might not necessarily equal Rush at that point, so the limit can exist, but the point does not, therefore the Music function is discontinuous at the perfection point.

Ahh...I think I got it...so a college is just for certain careers? Is it something like that? Like the college of say fisics that is in a certian university?
