I'm sure I'm not the only one who occasionally keeps on hearing the same song in his (her) head, even though the last time the song actually played is ages ago.

At the moment it is Beyond the pale by Pain of Salvation.

Well at this precise moment: Peter Hammill - "A Louse Is Not A Home".

That's only because I've just heard it though.

Last night (and usually everyday), I have bits of Rock Bottom going through my head, primarily "Sea Song" and "Alife"/"Alifib".

But for some very obscure and unknown reason, most of yesterday I had Alice Cooper - "Billion Dollar Baby" in my head, which is very very odd, because the last time I heard that song was about 2 weeks ago!

Earlier in the week I had Queen - "I'm In Love With My Car", yet another strange choice, but Brian May's guitar playing is great on this!

Other candidates:

Pain of Salvation - "People Passing By" and "Beyond the Pale" and less often "! (Foreward)" and "Stress".

<<"Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel has been stuck in my head for over a week.>>

I'm going back to get some older Peter Gabriel and just got PG 1 yesterday. "Solsbury Hill" is one of his best songs. As a matter of fact, my wife (who is a music teacher) and I were discussing the beat(s) to that song. Very odd time signature, but such a beautiful tune.

LMFBO.

It's that freaking breakdown near the end with the harmony vocal right?

One of the best moments those kids ever had on ANY of their records.

I've had that one get lodged more than once.

Anyhoo. I'm suffering with "It's all over" from Nektar's 1975 release "Recycled". It's a great lead vocal melody, one of the high points on that particular record....and it's driving me bananas for the last week or so.

Ahh me.

Suffer for art.
