I just listened to 10,000 Days again, making it the fifth time. I liked Aenima and Lateralus quite a bit. Well their new release I firmly believe is their best to date. Yes, its not for everyone but I see this album as their most progressive. I also feel it has the most King Crimson influence. It just has moments that put me smack dab in the middle of the Red era KC albums. I don't know what it is. I dug up Red to compare notes.
Anyone else feel this? Got any good information on Tool band members discussing KC influence? -------------

Well,the members of Tool love KC,especially Danny Carey,who also played some tracks on Adrian Belew's solo albums Sides 1 & 3.They even toured together.

Good stuff. I had no idea Fripp was into Tool. The idea that he used the music to get going in the morning is outstanding! I may have to try that for a week and evaluate its efficacy.  -------------

From this link: For me, one of the highlights of the tour was when Robert Fripp joined the band on stage to perform his incredible "soundscapes." This part of the show evolved each night until it reached fruition during the second L.A. show. As Adam's somber guitar melody faded out during "Reflection", Fripp was already fading in with his soundscape. This then built to an intensely beautiful crescendo as the majesty of a praetor-human figure pirouetted gracefully in some abysmal void on the overhead projections (this being the artwork featured on the cover of the Salival box-set). Later, as the multiple layers of Fripp's guitar-triggered devices faded out, a Danny Carey drum roll led the band into the dark, heavy chords of "Sober." The overall effect was quite dramatic I must say." I have to hear this!!!! Any idea where I can listen to it? Is it on an album anywhere? This is one of those things that was hopefully captured by a soundboard otherwise it will have legendary recollections by those there. -------------
