Two Prog Metal guitarists
Each have released a solo album, John Petrucci "Suspended Animation" and Kiko Loureiro "No Gravity"
Loureiro gets my vote. His solo album is incredible.

Petrucci's a much better all around player, and a much more matured composer. He easily gets my vote.
Loreiro is no slouch, but his career just hasn't had the impact or maturity Petrucci's has. Loreiro is what we call a sloppier style, with less articulation and more wild sweeps. Petrucci is a more articulated player who focuses more around scales and modulation than sweeps. -------------

| Kiko is amazing, and there is certainly nothing wrong with his technique, but his music tends to sound the same after awhile and he needs to branch-out a little and expand his style (That's why i'm glad Angra has two guitarists -- they balance each other out.) |
