Greg Lake will be among the special guests on a Prime Time television special entitled, "The 100 Greatest Christmas Moments." It's a four-hour programme starting at 21:00 UK time. Lake is nominated at no. 62, so I'm not sure what time his appearance will be broadcast:

that's so cool... Well, I'll miss it, since I'm in Canada .......

Hey three fates, did you see Greg Lake in that german show? I haven't seen it, but my brother told me about it. Greg was in it together with Cream-vocalist (forgot his name, omg), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and some others..... I think he performed "lucky man", but I'm not sure.

Actually it was Eric Burdon, Scott MacKenzie, Chris Thompson from Manfred Mann, Lou Gramm from  Foreinger, Jack Bruce, Ian Anderson, Paul Carrack, Delores O'Riordan from the Cranberries and a few others....

Oh, sorry three fates. I kindof expected that you've seen it....

I somehow get the feeling you like Greg Lake. Is that true?

Greg came in about 42 or something - a pretty short but pertinent clip, with a good few injections from Lake himself about the real meaning behind the lyrics(not that they were particularly cryptic!!).  What a pleasant chap.

I've had a few glasses of wine, but I think they credited the idea for the Prokofiev keyboard part to Lake (via a subtitle) - yet I always thought that was Keith's idea, maybe you know better...

Merry Xmas

Keith wasn't involved at all in the original recording of that song.  It was a Greg solo single that he did on his own without the E or P.  As you'll note by this:

I'm a little surprised tho that he didn't mention that Pete Sinfield was the co-writer... or did he??

And did you tape it??????

Sorry Threefates I didn't tape it - my video is on the blink.

And no the caption didn't mention Sinfield, but I'm really surprised he was involved - there's no mention of Fairy Kings or Goblin people in it anywhere. Perhaps he inspired the sentiment....

Excuse my naivety in this matter, as I know it was released as a Lake solo song, but I'm sure I read that whilst Keith maybe didn't PLAY on the record,  he gave Greg the IDEA for the passage.  Unfortunately I cant remember my source, which sort of nullifies my argument, but maybe I'm getting confused.  What was this then?:

Was it released subsequently, perhaps when they stuck it on Works?

Ohhh SV.... I sure do love you!!!   Do you mind making me and mailing me a copy??

And yes Pete Sinfield did actually write  a lot of the song... Actually Pete sent me a wonderful email a couple of days ago and attached a new demo that Chris Thompson (from Manfred Mann) had sung for him... and Pete's message to me is that "See I'm not always so cynical"... hehe.  Actually it was called "Best of Dreams" and its very beautiful... He also wants Greg to record it for a Holiday album.. I think that would be perfect!!!

And yes ELP did re-release that song on Works 2 to fulfill a record company contract.. and I don't doubt that Keith probably took some credit for it in an interview somewhere... but no Keith had nothing to do with it.  Greg and he weren't even talking at that time....
