Ok, we've all seen this kind of topic before, but I think it'd be fun to hear your stories of vocals you heard one way (usually on the first listen), and then listened to it louder, or in another way, or read the actual lyrics, and said "what the heck!"

For example, the first time I heard "Supper's Ready", I was sure Peter Gabriel said "Can't you see he's moving aloooong", when he infact says "Can't you see he's fooled you all". Also, I was sure he said "and all the children bought so many bars", I haven't figured that one out yet, hehe.

On "We Have Heaven", by Yes, I had absolutely no idea what gibberish they were repeating, but I have accepted the common translation as "Tell the moon dog, tell the march hare", whatever the heck that's supposed to be. :P

Any similar song experiences?

It's "all the children lost down many paths"

I always though it was "tell the moon, don't tell the marcher".
