I'm going to see the Keith Emerson band tonight at B.B. King's in New York City. I'm really looking forward to it but I have no idea what to expect. What kind of stuff does the KE Band play? Is it a lot of ELP?

When I saw him a few years ago it was a mixture of material from ELP and The Nice, with the usual classics (Hoedown, KE9, America). I have heard that he has played sibelius suite from the Nice on this latest tour.

Have a good one, I'm looking forward to seeing him again in London on 20th July.

There are a couple of reviews of recent gigs on the live perfomance reviews forum.

I missed his gig in Rome on December 1, 2005... because I didn't know about it! Ouch Sometime I spend too much time with my head in the clouds... I'm really sorry about that, because I would've liked to hear Dave Kilminster sing Lake's songs. I read a review on an Italian prog website, and it said he was great. I saw him last week with Waters and was impressed by his vocals, though singing Gilmour's parts is nowhere as daunting as singing Lake's.

That was an incredible show. He opened with Karn Evil 9 (1st Impression Part 2), closed the second set with the full Tarkus (plus a Peter Gunn interlude and a drum solo), and encored with Fanfare for the Common Man and Nutrocker. It was spectacular. And the guitar player was as good as Lake on the vocals and better than Lake at the guitar.
