ProgDay which takes place every Labor Day in Chapel Hill North Carolina is the worlds longest running prog festival taking place every year since 1995. This year the headliners will be Echolyn and Daemonia (the leader of this band is Caudio Simonetti formerly of Goblin). Other bands scheduled to perform so far include Uzva, Hamster Theatre, Woodenhead and Spiraling. There are still two more bands to be announced. Stay tuned. Well I'm not officially associated with the event nor am I a volunteer so I have no control over when it takes place. That said with the exception of one year when it took place in October it has always been held on Labor Day weekend. I agree it may not be the best time for a festival since many people choose to spend that weekend with their families but that's they way they do things.

I just want to point out that tickets went on sale yesterday(June 15th) for ProgDay and advance tickets(which are 100 dollars for weekend pass) will be on sale until August 15th. After that the price goes up. Again, please check out the website http://www.progday.com - www.progday.com for more info. See you there!
