Thanks to Rushaholic for pointing this interesting snippet out from the Porcupine Tree Website:

Although the tour is primarily to promote the release of the Arriving Somewhere.... DVD,the band are planning to use the first half of the concerts in both Europe and the USA to present completely new music

He says he is about 70% done with the new album and that he is finished with the new Blackfield album.  Should be another great year for Steve Wilson.

Sweet!!! I'll have to mark Friday, October 6th 2006 on the calendar... I sure wouldn't mind seeing Porcupine Tree again... Hopefully Fripp's new project is far removed from his Soundscapes.

Whoa! 70% done already? Think we'll get the new album before the new year? I hope so! If not, it'll put my Christmas money to good use!

Thanks for the news!

I know what I like and I like what I know. I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose free will. If I die tomorrow, I`d be alright because I believe that after we`re gone, the spirit carries on.

the new blackfield album is indeed finished, but the new PT album is not 70% done! it's 70 % WRITTEN, so I wouldn't expect the new album before january 2007! Still, it's great they'll perform some new music on their september shows. I'm gonna watch them in Antwerp and maybe I'll travel too Amsterdam too, two weeks later!!

I'm pretty sure that the ProjeKt six material is not about soundscapes, as Adrian Belew is involved too and the material will serve as a basis for the next King Crimson album (line-up: Fripp-Belew-Levin-Mastelotto)

As soon as the New York Tickets are up, I'm gettin them. I missed them last tour, and I'm not gonna miss it again, espically with ProjeKCt 6

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

fine with me, but at least, give The Start of Something Beautiful' a try. it's one of SW's most brilliant creations and Gavin Harissons is so extremely tastefull and excellent yet complex!! a real epic in just a couple of minutes!!

The Start of Something Beautiful is the one track on that album I haven't been able to get into.

I'll have to listen to it again

Strange Ermm.  (but human nonetheless, maybe one day, the song'll appeal to you. I've got a similar experience with a lot of songs all of the time)

Great news. Has anyone heard anything more about his collaboration with Akerfeldt and Portnoy. A new Blackfield album is great but that collaboration is the one I'm really looking forward to.

I wish they'd do more U.S. gigs. Philadelphia is the closest but it's just too far to drive for just one show.

Only that they were to start the collaboration later this year.

That song hits close to home because I never really looked at the lyrics until after my first "breakup". I say that in quotes because we never went out, she said "yes" and then avoided me for a month until finally she "felt like" telling me that she ...."never really felt the same" *sry had to*
What sucks is she was the only girl who'd ever talk to me.....

BTW Steve Wilson is my musical idolThumbs Up
