yes they are... everything is made up by colours!
Black can be splitted into brown and blue
White Can be split up to red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple

Black is the total absence of color and white is the presence of all of the colors. They aren't technically colors though. My sister studied light in her science faculty at university and she learned that. -------------
