you know horizons is basically a homage to bach's cello prelude #1 don't you, it's pretty much the same.

well i just listened to Miss Fortune by Faust and the acoustic part at the end is really excellent, not in virtuosity but in emotion with the vocals over it.

Definitely has to be by Opeth. I guess I could say damnation as a whole, and then there are some really brilliant ones like benighted, that one part in karma, and hours of wealth. Blackwater Park has a ton of great ones too

With you on all of those - great choices for sure.  Also, the ones by Greg Lake already mentioned (was 'Epitaph' from ITCOTCK on that list?  Lake does a wonderful "unplugged" version of Epitaph on the ELP 1974 Live album).

The first one that came to mind was the guitar brake in the 17th minute of Octavarium. Those two measures of acoustic guitar are really the only great thing about that album... :\
