I'm not sure this poll has been done before. But anyways, here it is. Vote for the continent you ARE IN to see where most progarchivers are, I'm just curious. Remember, it's not where you are from, it's where you are at the moment.

I am from The Netherlands, aka Holland.
By the way, for non-European progheads: we are not part of Germany or Belgium and Amsterdam is not a country but our capital Wink , I often notice these mistakes (I don't mean on Prog Archives but in general)!

Yeah, Oceania is Australasia, had no clue you called it that in English, I always thought it was Oceania in both Spanish and English.

Well, as far as I'm concerned you have succeeded...Wink Fortunately I tend to judge people as individuals and not on the basis of their geographical origins! I'd be in trouble otherwise, as I think I'm the only European in the current Symph team!LOL

any recommendations for some Portugese prog?.... noticed that you have a fair number of them.  What's good.... what's not hahahah.  Excuse the 'ignorant american' question... does the music share any of the same cultural influences as the Spanish stuff (which I love)

Most portuguese prog is influenced by French Symphonic. Examples are Tantra and José Cid. I must confess I am a bit unaware of modern Portuguese Prog.

There are a few other bands/artists not in the Archives that could be cathegorized as Prog-Folk or even Psychedelic, like Julio Pereira and Banda do Casaco, but that might be streching a bit.

There is an interesting modern project called "A Naifa", that mixed typical Fado sonorities with modern instrumentation.

"Spanish stuff" I do not know, but whatever they do, we can do it better.

Oh, and Snow Dog, you're just like I don't know where you live. LOL

Wow, the results are really interesting to look at, I more or less had the idea that most progarchivers where in Europe because it's where you can find prog albums easier, it isn't such a hassle to get them as it is lets say....in Venezuela...where I come from. Thanks for voting guys.

I really like it... we haven't been here but a couple of years.... took a bit to get used to southern culture hahahha but I love it here.  GREAT golf... live 20 minutes from Pinehurst (where they played last years U.S. Open), the beaches are great... love the Asheville area... and the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area is less than an hour away to take care of any cultural needs.

great school... especially if you are off the 'granola' type hahahahh.  My wife and I love to go up there and hang out with the kids at the bars... I'm a 'part-time' vegatarian and they have some great organic resturants there.  Great bars and night life as well.  Reminds Becks and myself of our college days. Beautiful area as well.  Same over on your side... hour to hour and half away... that put you close to Knoxville then.  You have some beautiful country out your way as well.
