Overall art direction and package design, I love the deluxe edition of Marillion's Marbles by Carl Glover. As much as I love that band, I've never been a fan of their covers. I thought the Photoshop work was weak, and the photography was pretty dull. They nailed it with Marbles, however.

As noted last week, Hugh Syme has produced some of my favorites. Namely, Rush's Moving Pictures and Test For Echo. I also liked his Octavarium cover for Dream Theater.

Neal Morse's package design for Testimony and One are pretty nice, too. Lovely photography for Testimony especially.

Of course, not to mention Roger Dean would be wrong on so many levels. I like Tales Of Topographic Oceans and Yessongs. His covers for Asia's Alpha and ABWH are nice, as well.

I wish I was home and was able to look over my collection because I know I'm missing a few.

Oh, the Transatlantic covers. Especially for Bridge Across Forever. I love it when a band has a theme for stuff.

Just thought of more:

Supertramp's Even In The Quietest Moments: Great concept of having the lone baby grand on a mountain top with sheet music. Their cover for Breakfast In America is hysterical. The plump waitress as the Statue Of Liberty is priceless. And to give it the feeling that an arriving plane is passing over it is a nice touch.

I agree, whenever I shut my eyes while listening to that album, this image pops right into my mind. Though even apart from the music it's amazing; I could stare at it for hours.

Also Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here has amazing art. Not just the cover but contained all throughout the album.

I never cared much for Hipgnosis covers, but everything Roger Dean and Alex Grey (Tool, The String Cheese Incident) do is pretty good.  I also like H.R. Giger's ELP cover.
