Get some ZaPpA, GaNgStAh!
No, seriously: you can downloads tons of great songs from http://www.progarchives.com - www.progarchives.com . Check out: Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Van Der Graaf Generator, Magma. Some 'eavy stuff.
By the way: Led Zeppelin and the Beatles are not prog (although we're still fighting about that )

My reccomendations would be spelling lessons and then research the meaning of progressive rock and you might want to reassess whether Led Zeppelin and the Beatles qualify.
Also, some taste would help as well.....Phil Collins!??!

Even Greg finds Phil Collins very difficult to swallow.
That must be a first!

Welcome to the forums Kool. This is an interesting introduction to your unique world.
I'd suggest King Crimson's 'In The Court Of The Crimson King'
http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=1903 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD. asp?cd_id=1903
then throw the rest of that rubbish away.
Just my opinion mind you.

Hey Peter..I think you misjudged this kid. He is not the troll you think he is. I just think he is a big Phil Collins fan and for some reason he has your panties in a bundle. Desist with the poor fellow. You always say everyone is entitled to have their own tastes and opinions.
Concentrate your scolding on people deserving of your discontent...like me, Reed Lover and DallasBryan.

I too believe he is a real Philly Browins fan but he could be a little less (don't take this too literally) ignorant about things, his whole pink floyd is overated thing could be a valid thread/opinion but he was just dumb about it.

The guy still gets an allowance...how informed do you want him to be? It is our duty to welcome him to the forums and point him toward good music rather than stone the poor lad for being annoying. Even after all the bashing he has recieved I have never seen him be anything but respectful. So he started an unpopular thread...I sure as heck know me, DallasBryan, and Reed Lover have done that multiple times. What's the difference? We can spell!!!

Well, I thought (and am still not entirely convinced otherwise) that he was a construct, and a big wind-up.
Phil Collins as a "prog guru," better than Gabriel, indeed!
If I was going to deliberately anger a lot of the old progsnobs here, Phil is just the guy that I would go out of my way to praise....

What the hell is your new avatar? Looks like a Thanksgiving turkey sent to the gallows due to lack of nourishment. I could help you with a more suitable avatar.

Somehow Peter the Topographic Turkey Vulture doesn't sound quite so REGAL.
How about Peter the Candian Mounted Snow Goose. Kinda Camelish, eh?
Maybe, Peter the Proud Professorial Penguin Pecker. Nah? Penguin already taken.
Hmm, Peter the Prog Professor Parrot. You could use the Monty Python pet shop skit as and avatar.
PYtor and the Snow Dog. He... nah, too fantastical. Your more an Earth Child.
Peter the Great. No, no one would be too accepting of Russian dominance.
New contest: Pick Peter's Avatar. Peter Picking Packs a Pickled Punch Perchance?
Anyone?
