HI GUYS, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.

I've been listening to my Kultivator CD many times during March and a couple of times during April... and I can't seem to find the Zheul thing anywhere. I strongly believe that this amazing band's sound is closer to the most bizarre side of Canterbury and the complexity of old-fashioned jazz-rock fusion in a more subtle array, with some added touches of folkish-like ambiences. It's more jazzy than Zheul, if you ask me, although given the fact that I'm "oficially" a Symphonic Prog specialist... perhaps My opinion is not as solid as I wih it were... Confused

   Well, regards. Wink

Although technically I would agree with you (and this would be so also for Lagger Blues Machine) , but both those groups are often categotized as Zeuhl in books

And this site apparently chose that road also

OK, but those books are obviously wrong. There are books in which Nektar appears in a section of Ger5man rock or even krautrock - I beleive in truth over statistics.

Well, anyway...

   Kind regards & peace! Smile

Mostly, I feel pleased that my fellow reviewre Sean Trane, who IMHO is one of the mos taccomplished and clearest-thinking reviewers ever, agrees with my observation. On the other hand, his new information made me understand why the Zheul stuff was given to Kultivator, something like an "act of routine". All I can say (and I probably won't insist anymore on it) is that the Kultivator album doesn't fit that category at all. Bands like Pochikaite Malka, Zao or Bondage Fruit fit this Zheul category better... just to put a few examples.

   Kind regards.

It's a hard album to categorise - sort of a blend of RIO, Canterbury and Zeuhl with Swedish folk influences. Great LP, though!
