I'm curious... what is the longest single vinyl record ever released? The longest one I know of is Todd Rundgren's Utopia, which clocks in at 59:16. Anyone know of a longer album?

I think Eno did one, Thursday Afternoon, that was over 60 minutes, but I'm not sure if it was released on vinyl or just CD.

The "environments" series of LP's (and later CD's) were all 60 minutes (30 per side).  That Deep Purple LP would have some horrible fidelity, since we're talking about loud music, which requires wider grooves on an LP.

Klaus Shulze - Timewind (about 70-75 mins)

^^^^
I have the Cd version of Timewind clocking in at 58 minutes (30+28) , but this was possible only with music with low dynamic ranges. The more dynamic there is on a vinyl, the wider the groove, therefore you could not stock quite that man y music on it.

Utopia's first album is amazingly long too, with a sidelong track of over 30 minutes
