I have to Go With MtGJiHA, except for part a, too boring, the rest is amazing. CG is a boring also in part B too me, I like how it gets louder in C, and then the vocals, but it takes too long, and part E just seemed to be there for the album finaly.

However, both are amazing.

They both are terrible, dragged-out jam sessions that shouldn't have been on the album at all.

To call them 'epics' is like calling a burger from McDonald's 'nutritious'; it's still mostly filler.

I love both out of those two however I'd prefer Cassandra Gemini however if it were one track on the album rather than split into various different tracks. They said it was to make it look less intimidating, although what on earth they were on about i have no idea. Out of the whole album though L'via... is my favourite piece.

*ignoring deepphreeze* I say cassandra gemini because how is Miranda even an epic? sure its 13 min, but only like 4 min of actual song.

Wait....part a....part b....do you people actually know the subdivisions or are you going by the album? because many have been confused about the album's track listing. To clarify:
Miranda is ONE TRACK.
Cassandra Gemini is the last 8 tracks of the album, and the tracks aren't really divided along the movement changes.

Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore, is the best of the 2 IMO. But i like both, but i have only heard the album 6-7 times so its still growing on me. Smile This album is much harder to get into then De-loused was i think. There is so much going on. Wacko

I'm going with what my Itunes says about the album after I uploaded it on, I don't know about you.

The way you phrase it "which of the two epics..." makes it seem as though those are the only ones. If you are going to consider Miranda an epic, than you have to include Cygnus and L'Via as well. Now, if you specifically wanted a preference between the two tracks specifically, you just phrased the question incorrectly.

Nearly every music data provider on the internet has the tracklist incrrect. And if you listen to the album with the incorrect tracklisting, it should be pretty obvious that all of the last 8 tracks go together.

I have almost nothing to add at this point, just seeing how many quotes w/in a quote are possible. hehe... well anyways if you're so reliant on itunes, look at the cassandra gemini there. It's the 32 minute uncut version, starting where supposedly part b of miranda started.

Cassandra for sure!!!!

Can anyone tell me if the section that mentions the 'Mink handjob' is from William Burroughs Naked Lunch.  It certainly sounds like it is.

I think Cassandra Geminni is their ultimate masterpiece. Miranda is my second favorite song of theirs.

Cassandra Geminni is their best piece of music IMO. Miranda is a very good song but doesn't really compare to CG. Just my thoughts.

I think Cassandra Gemini is the overall better work.  Miranda just drags in parts, but I can rock out to CG the whole way thru.  all 30 minutes!

Cassandra Gemini. The first 4 minutes of Miranda are a complete waste of time; the middle is a tad repitious; and the end is not all that great. However, track 9 is the only skipworthy section of Cassandra.

Well, I haven't yet put in my opinion on the subject yet, so here:

Miranda has some of the most beautiful passages of music I've ever heard, and the ambience at the beginning, contrary to popular opinion, is a great way to set the stage for the song. I really have nothing to complian about with Miranda, and I don't think the ambient parts are nearly as repetitve and wasteful as the part after The Widow.

Cassandra has got to be one of the greatest epics (and songs) ever written. Not to take anything way from the rest of the album, which is all cream of the crop too, but Cassandra, in its entirety is powerful, exciting, emotional, etc, etc. I can't say enough good things about it.

Cassandra.

But, to the person that started this thread: maybe you need to reconsider your thoughts on the subject too? After all, you have been listening to the wrong things. You believed some parts of Cassandra were actually part of Miranda, etc.

Thats the beauty of itTongue

I also agree to what Moatilliata said about Miranda. But overall, I choose Cassandra Gemmini because of the opinion said by Golden Spiral. How many epics rock thru the whole lenght of the song? And more so since its one of those few 25+ minute epics around.

Okay, I am offically confused as hell.  I knew the track listing that itunes was giving me was iincorrect, but now I have no idea which song is which.  My favorite song is Cygnus. . . Vismund Cygnus.  My itunes says that the first four tracks are Cygnus, and I know that cannot be correct now.

Could someone please xplain which tracks are part of what songs, so I can label them correctly and get this album straight in my head.

Also, inside the CD case, under where the CD is placed, it has a track listing for the song Frances The Mute.  Part A is In Thirteen Seconds, part B is nineteen sank, while six would swim, Part C is Five would grow and one was dead.  Even stranger is that there is a whole long paragraph of lyrics for this seemingly non-existent song.  Is it some sort of bizarre joke, or is this song somehow hidden somehere?  Please post your thought.

The real name of the tracks are the ones that are in the bands page in this website. The company or whoever made the copies just screwed it all up.

Keep reading the lyrics on the booklet and you'll see that  Cassandra Gemmini starts in track 5 and track 1 to 4 are onesong each.
