I made this poll to figure out what type of music climate Tools new CD is about to be confronted with . The question I ask after so long waiting for their "new" CD ... do you think Tool is still cool ?

I didn`t start this thread to bash Tool besides just you wait till the new CD comes out and we will see who is washed up .. I tip it will be something special     But between you and I its the new Rush CD that I`m hangin out for , I played vapor trials last night  why did they have to engineer it so loud it makes it hard for me to get into sounding so raw, it feels like forever we have to wait for some well produced Rush material probably even longer than Tool have taken to make this new cd

All the people that think its a decoy are going to be severely disappointed when the album drops and this is indeed it.  Best not to count on something like that.

I think its excellent and I won't have to be disappointed.

Does cool mean they are still cool with the teens or with me or what?

I wonder why you created this poll just a few weeks BEFORE their new CD is released - that makes absolutely no sense to me.

If this is decoy then I'm a the biggest fan of the band who created it

Absolutely masterpiece.

Now I just have to decide wether to by one or two copies of the album (one to car and one to home).

Yes TOOL is cool, but I can't stand their lyrics. To me, TOOL is like Picaso. There's no denying his technical brilliance, his artistic genius, and his contribution and influence on the world of visual art. But let's face it, the guy was a pr*ck. In the same respect, TOOL's musicianship is unasailable, the production is phenomenal, and their influence is undeniable. However, their lyrical content is difficult for many of us to tolerate. But hey, that's why art rules!

I listened to Vicarious and I must say, they are between 35 and 45 years old (Danny is the oldest) but they are still cool so I give it a yes.

Or is it in fact really, really brilliant?

Where's the "Who cares" option?

Seriously, since when did prog fans care what's "Cool" or not?

I was about to say pretty much the same thing.

I like Tool, which can only mean that they're about as uncool as it's possible to be!

The couple of songs I've heard just sound like rehashes of elements from Lateralus (which I loved), but then again, a couple of songs never give a complete picture of a truly good album. So I'm just waiting to find out what this album's all about.

If they are cool and I like them, is that enough to make me cool!

Please don't respond I'm very sensitive.
