I just have to go with John Wetton even though I like Geddy Lee's playing better.  Wetton has a power to his voice and great pitch.  He has proven himself good in hard rock, prog, and pop.  I've always liked Greg Lake's guitar playing better.

I voted for Greg Lake because the question is : Bass / Singers --> Wetton, Lake or Lee

Greg Lake is one of my favorist vocalist and he's a great bass player. As a singer/bass player, he's my favorite. If it was only for bass skills, my vote would have gone for either Lee or Wetton.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Three greats, certainly, but Geddy Lee gets the nod for great singing and amazing bass work--neither Lake nor Wetton can touch him as a bassist. Plus he's dorky looking and has an enormous nose. Both Lake and Wetton were pretty-boys in their day, so I'm voting for the dork.

Greg Lake.. the sweatest voice of all of them

and as a bassist... as good as any of them.. just overshadowed by two overbearing and incredible musical talents...

Wetton's bass playing with Crimson was fantastic, powerful, strange, and
dark. I love every second of those three albums. Wetton's voice was PERFECT
for those albums as well. I don't regret any of his "raw" sounding vocals.
They make the albums what they were.

OK - out of these three, Lake is the strongest vocalist, though the (relatively) weakest bass player. Wetton is a great bassist, but vocally is not my favourite, though I don't dislike him (only on LTiA!). So, I went with Geddy, who's great at both - even if there are lots of people around here who hate his vocals.

However, if you want someone who's got both a stunning voice and amazing four-string skills, I'd recommend Mr Richard Sinclair, one of the great unsung heroes of prog.

Geddy, followed by Greg Lake. But all three of them are great. Geddy is an acquired taste, but once you're into it, he's just fantastic.

Geddy's bass playing is untouchable to Lake or Wetton but Lakes voice is my favorite.

Lee in the long run.

Forgot to include an "Other" category...

Jeff Berlin for playing, or Percy Jones (Brand X)...For combined singer/bass player, maybe Jack Bruce (he did release some "proggish" solo material & others on this board have classified Cream as "prog"...I don't)
