Members of MADDER MORTEM, ULVER and BORKNAGAR to guest on upcoming WINDS album

PDF Print E-mail
WINDS have announced the names of several musicians that will make guest appearances on their upcoming album.

Those appearing are:

Agnete M. Kirkevaag (Madder Mortem, Frantic Bleep)
Lars A. Nedland (Borknagar, Solefald)
Øystein Moe (Ulver, Tritonus)

Andy Winter, piano player and main songwriter, comments:

“These guys were selected by the four of us based on our deep admiration for their talents, and we are both honored and grateful that they chose (and found in time in their busy schedules) to participate in enhancing our new record with their presence.”

WINDS is currently working on completing the remaining recording sessions for their fourth record, the follow-up to the well-received 2004 offering The Imaginary Direction Of Time. The upcoming album will be mixed and completed during late summer or early fall of 2006. The album will be released on THE END RECORDS sometime before the end of the year.

I seem to have posted this in the wrong section. (due to the link in the front page being direscted to prog events instead of ptog news).

Could an Admin move this to the news section please?

This is one of the many bands I have to check out. I've listened to some samples in the past, and those really blew me away. Lovely arrangements.... But... where to start....

Begin with "Reflections Of The I" and proceed to "The Imaginary Direction Of TIme".

Now, it is a good and well accomplished band. However, in Inaginary, there is a problem that the songs do not differ enough from one another and you get this feeling that you are listening to the same thing the whole time, BUT, to a good thing!

The music itself is beautiful and the violin plays a crucial part of their sound. But the songs blend with each other too much. After listening to it, I can't point exactly which song really impressed me the most cause I can't single it out (except tracks 4 and 6).

I truly hope that their new effort will improve this issue.
