90's. I have the same favourite song as I did when I was 6. And Porcupine Tree put out Signify in '96 too.

In the 90s, if music was bad, it wasn't because it was contrived or forced, it was because it was just crap.

all decades of music have their worth IMO, I'd probably have to go with the 80s for me cause thats when I was a youth first really getting into music, thus many of my all time favorites will hail from that decade,

70's !!! I was 11 in 1973 & my cousin was 15 & he loved Floyd ,Sabbath ,Purple , Zeppelin etc... I just got so much into this music , coz all i was into were Sweet,Slade & the mighty Status Quo Who i still love & see live as much as possible!! But for some reason the 70's i have great memories of so many prog bands & i am glad i was old enough to respect great music! These days i always listen to 70's music as the great bands were at their peak! 80's to me ruined every band going!! 90's slight improvement, 00's excellent for prog in my opinion, some great bands about now! I'm actually listening to Opeth as i write this!!

I voted for the 1970s, although not because of Progressive Rock in the second half of the decade, most of which I disliked. But some very good non-Progressive Rock music came out in that decade (including, yes, several very good Punk songs).

Really I would like to be able to choose from around 1966/7 to 1974/5. I'd want 'Good Vibrations' in there, so I suppose I'd plump for the ten-year period 1966 to 1975 inclusive.

Mind you, some truely excellent pop and rock music came out in the early 1960s too. But, from the choices available in this poll, the 1970s it is.

70's. And not just for prog. Alot of creativity and just good music came from the 70s.
