That's a damn serious question!

Their singers have about the same voice, the keyboards & drums have some similitudes.

Saga's guitars are more hard rock, while Fixx's guitars are more atmospheric.

The basses can be compared.

Saga is more prog rock than Fixx, but I do not see Fixx as New Wave band: they should be here!

Both bands are excellent!

Seriously, I think I have no preference!

I'd say Saga

Michael Sadler's voice is superior to Cy Curnin's - he even demonstrates this on the newest album.

You'll never hear a serious keyboard 'solo' in The Fixx's like you'd hear in Saga's music.

As far as the drums...again, I don't agree. Saga's music took a turn for the worse in the mid/late '80s, so are you comparing The Fixx to those years? In '95 Saga began to prog it up a little more, again.

I think you are a bit rude with Fixx. I was comparing the 4 first Fixx albums with Saga before the Behaviour album. They have many differences, but you can't deny the subtle atmospheric arrangements on those Fixx's albums.

I think Fixx's principle is not to produce complex rythm changing patterns and impressive solos: they rather rely on the sounds effects that create ethereal atmospheres and comfortable & dreamy ambience.

No, actually I like the Fixx. Not a little, not a lot, but they're alright.

And you're comparing pre-Behaviour Saga to the Fixx? Sorry, I just don't hear it. Listen to Silent Knight again, and you'll know what I mean.

I agree that 'Behaviour' bears little relation to something like 'The Shuttered Room' but I come out 50/50 on both bands as well.

What's wrong with Behaviour ? I like this album as much as previous Saga releases.

Saga is better. Fixx is still good. But Saga rocks.

Behaviour is their last good album before Steel Umbrellas and Generation 13. While it isn't as prog as the first four Saga albums, and the sound is terribly 80s, there are some amazing tunes there. I've actually never heard about the Fixx so I'll have to check 'em out.
