If you are talking about the Genesis Live album, wich i gues you do all i can say is that its very good and very recomended if you like genesis thire best live album. Collins is great on that one and changes and sings the song in a funny diffrent way compered with Gabriel.

IMO, "Seconds Out represents Genesis`peak as a concert band as a quartet (plus great drummers Chester Thompson and Bill Bruford).

I can give you seconds out DVD.

I have also 3 more DVD's with Gabriel which are far more better for me.

Collin's singing is not my cup of tee.

I dont think any film of Genesis concerts from that era are available.

There used to be a film called 'A band in Concert' which I think was filmed on the Trick of the Tail tour, but that has long since been deleted.

Perhaps someone else can confirm, but I think that film was only available on 8mm, and later on Laser Disc for a short time only.

The Name of DVD is Genesis in concert

Review by David Ross Smith

Producer/director http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=1:TonYMAYLAM - Tony Maylam captured the band's performances at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland and Bingley Hall in Stafford, U.K. during the 1976 tour that resulted in the http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:jm2zeflkhgf5 - Seconds Out album. The solid direction, song selection, and sound quality put Genesis in Concert on a par with http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:qt4uak2k5m3n - Seconds Out ; the film, therefore, serves as a fine companion piece to that audio release. The 45-minute videotape is comprised of seven compositions and features an instrumental rendition of "Fly on a Windshield"/"Broadway Melody of 1974" as well as hot dual drumming on "The Cinema Show" by http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:y2jb7i4jg7xr - Collins and http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:h85gtq8ztu4o - Bill Bruford .

There are two live video recodings:

Genesis In Concert, a movie containing the A Trick Of The Tail tour, blended with 'comedy caper' images (it's available as a bootleg DVD)

Genesis Wind And Wuthering promo (30 minutes) featuring 3 tracks: Firth Of Fifth, Los Endos (48 Boeing landing lights!) and Closing Section The Musical Box.

Both can be traced on Intenet to be downloaded, if you are lucky!

One DVD consist 120 min on various Hacket's performances (TV, and concert)

One DVD is from USA tour Lamb lies down on Broadway (bad picture)

One DVD is Genesis in concert with Brufford, Hacket, and another drummer, but without Gabriel

I don't know if this DVD-s are completly legal, but they are great

I paid 100 EUR for them

In http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk/ - http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk/  you can find lists of recordings and films / videos available for each tour they did. Maybe you can contact them to obtain copies of them.

EDIT: I`m not promoting "bootlegs". These websites don`t promote them too. You can obtain them only as trades of other recordings or films/ videos. That`s the way it works.

I think that I previously read this review in the "All Music Guide" website.

The "Seconds Out" album has only one song recorded with Bruford ("Cinema Show") in 1976. For the "Wind & Wuthering" tour Bruford wasn`t available because he was planning a band with Rick Wakeman and John Wetton. They rehearsed for 3 weeks, I think, before Wakeman left them to rejoin YES. Then, Wetton and Bruford formed the "U.K." band. So, in late 1976, Collins called Chester Thompson and he became the new tour drummer. So, IMO, the "Genesis in Concert" film is not the "companion" fo the "Seconds Out" album, as the reviewer wrote.

But, the "Cinema Show" fragment that appears in the "Genesis In Concert" film is from the same date of the "Cinema Show" recording which appears in the "Seconds Out" album. I never have seen that video. I only mention here  what I read in the http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk/ - http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk/  website, in the films/ videos section.

I think that the real "companion" of the "Seconds Out" album is really the Dallas film footage that Erik mentioned in his previous messages in this thread.

Here, Im not sure about details. I know its 1976 and has no Gabriel. I do not like Phil Collins humorous ways of singing classic genesis so I dont know Seconds out at all. This may be it or just another concert from the era. If you Like phil singing its a good watch. low quality but you can see if your interested in pursuing a better copy.

The cinema release of Genesis In Concert was part of a double bill with the official film of the 1976 (Montreal) Winter Olympics, White Rock (music by R Wakeman).

My buddies and I went to see it at the Midnight Matinee in the Regal Cinema, Bathgate, Scotland. I recall having to walk home that night (we lived in the next town) as we'd spent all our pennies on beer beforehand and didn't have enough left for a taxi.

I was 16 at the time, and little was I to know that that was to become standard practice over the next few years!

I have an mpg version which is kind of mid-range resolution. I think I'll scratch around the web this week and try to find something a little better.

Quoting Peter Frame`s "The Complete Rock Family Trees" book (page 23):

" A film, GENESIS IN CONCERT, was premiered at the ABC Cinema in Shaftsbury Avenue, London on 1st February 1977 in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Anne".

Chester Thompson joined Genesis as tour drummer in December 1976 for reharsals. His debut with them was in the first date of their "Wind & Wuthering" tour, in January 1st, 1977, in the Rainbow Theatre, London.

In http://www.genesis-movement.org/php/videodetails.php?uid=1011&isvideo=1 - http://www.genesis-movement.org/php/videodetails.php?uid=101 1&isvideo=1

you can see that this film was filmed in 1976, during the "A Trick of the Tail" tour with Bill Bruford as tour drummer (for that tour, only).
