Yes, some do. Look in a similar thread. What's all this about? Is it a North-American problem?

Maybe they're generally less keen on prog metal? I Don't know anyone who likes it. Except Mr. Bungle and stuff like that, but they never fitted well into that genre anyway.

The Rush and Yes concerts I've been to have had plenty of females there.
It's not just women.  Most of my male friends have no use for progressive music.
I'm almost 30 years old and I've met exactly ONE person (friend, not counting people at concerts) who was as in to Yes as I was.  I did get two of my college roommates into Rush and Dream Theater, and that was quite a coup.

P.S.  My wife thinks prog music is pretentious and silly.  In the case of prog metal too heavy.

Geez, I'm about half as old and I know a lot of friends, actually mostly female, who love prog (no Yes-lovers though). Where I go to school, everyone strives to be different, and almost everyone who listens to rock listens to prog. You pretty much have to see it to believe it, because we're all just either potheads, weirdos, anime-freaks, or just plain bubbly or dark people who love different music. I even know a few teachers who are into prog, and one of them is actually a Porcupine Tree fan.

Oh, yeah, and I'm female so, yeah, I like prog. Does that make me different? Not where I live and go to school.

Hey Peace Frog, you don't go to Canterbury in Ottawa by any wild stretch of the imagination do you?

My wife has patiently endured it during our more than 20 years of marriage.

She likes some of the early prog bands, particularly Yes.She also likes Spock's Beard and Neal Morse's solo stuff.

She hates Tool.

The one cool thing is she goes with me to every concert. But the down side to that is I go to see all the bands she likes.Perfect example,we went and saw Motley Crue a couple of weeks ago.I was definitely along for the ride on that one.

My wife can't stand the more complex prog and fiery soli on electric guitar or flashy synthesizer explorations. Supertramp, Barclay James harvest and Pink Floyd are OK but no ELP, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant or Italian and Japanese progrock.

It has been investigated, most women don't like prog because they prefer more melodic music, that's why Marillion was so popular among women, they were seduced by the romantic and melodic song Kayleigh and then got into Misplaced Childhood...

I get away with playing prog in the car with my mum...and my sister often listens to it of her own accord due to me  apart from that I know exactly one girl into prog. And that's my ex girlfriend...and I was the one that got her into prog. lol

I'm so prog, I clap in 9/8
